Seems like as good a time as any to revisit this thread. Reading through some of the posts on here over the past few days/weeks/months and it’s pretty grim. The same handful of posters on both sides having the same arguments, day after day. Neither side is ever going to agree, or change their stance given how entrenched their views are. There’s a fairly depressing futility to it all.

Is it time to bin off the sub forum as a bad mistake? Or will it just spill over and pollute Off Topic again? Genuine question, by the way. I know there will probably be the usual denials and accusations, but not really sure if there’s a way to sort this mess or if the rot has set and the divisions are too deep? Views welcomed anyway.

Keep it or it will spread all over again,i don't think this time of scrutiny on those making life and death decisions and the investigations that will follow is a good time to bin it

Keep it please. If you bin the subforum all the echo chamber posters who just seem to like arguing from morning to night might be tempted into off topic more

To be honest Ric its a forum. Yes there is some pretty bad behaviour and I have been guilty in the past. The sub forum should stay IMHO as nobody forces anyone to read or contribute, the easily offended can avoid it.

Its probably a place to vent for some and taking it away might not be constructive. Keep off topic as free as possible of these most sensitive issues, thus leaving the more sensitive souls (including some mods) a place where non football discussions can be participated in.

Those divisions sadly are worryingly reflective of society and our country and they are going to get worse until it blows.

Trying to deny or hide these problems wont work in society nor will denying them on here achieve much in my view.

Keep it, if honest real people interested in politics will be tribal and polarised so of course it is a merry go round of the same ideologies banging their particular drum.

But honestly recently, (and I don't want to be nasty or snide about some poster not here) since some posters have disapeared or flounced the rivalry has been more adult and less abusive and debates, though repetative have been better.


Also if it is in here it isn't affecting other forums and causing mither
