If you don’t think this was well planned out, I think you’re naive.

If City were jumping on board with this with enthusiasm, why no quotes from anyone from the club?

Why no communication on social media?

Why did Pep and the players come out against it?

If we’d backed out because of the fan reaction, why no apology to fans? Why no explanation to try to get fans back on side?

If we weren’t keeping Ceferin sweet, why did he release a statement glowing in praise of us within 90 seconds of our official announcement?

The idea that City’s executives planned for months to completely transform the landscape of European football and double our broadcast revenue, but backed out after 36 hours because of a couple of banners and a Gary Neville rant just seems so ridiculous that it’s just not plausible.
Ahh, so the reason were getting no explanation or apology from the club is because they know us Blues realise it was some grand Machiavellian plan to avenge past aggressions?
Granted i've been transfixed on city matters these past few days and not focused on the other 11 teams involved in this debauchery, so i may have missed something, which clubs were actively promoting this on social media and not cowarding behind a wall of silence like we were?

Why despite the fact we were the first to leave, are we the only club not to come out and apologise to the fans?

Is it because we knew by leaving the whole thing would collapse like a pack of cards, which suits us down to the ground, or are we just run by sociopaths?

Here's my two-penneth...

I think we took a punt here. Imo I don't think we wanted to join this, we certainly didn't need to join it, but we already know how hard it is to break into a cartel when you start off on the outside, so on that basis, we chose to go in with it.

I think the club were silent as it waited to guage reaction. They will have already known the likes of Sky, BT Sport, Amazon etc wouldn't be happy, but we we're OK with that. They also figured other clubs would be unhappy, as the proposal has no positives for them at all.

What caught them out was the reaction of the grass roots support, the man in the street. The poll on here never really dropped below 95% disapproval, and I think this was a fair representation of all fans. I believe this made the club very un-easy, and it was enough to motivate them out.

Fuck Boris and William, it had nothing to do with them.

I do believe the club owe us an official explanation tho...

I have no idea why they have yet to communicate to the fans, shame maybe? Lets say for arguments sake your right, its absolutely no excuse to not offer any kind of an apology or explanation to the fans. Out of the two possibilities you've offered, i find sociopaths the only plausible answer.

I couldn't go with the first one because I genuinely think our club isn't arsed about an ESL. I voted i-ll judged cock up but that sounds a bit light. This isn't apoologize and it's finished territory, it's gtonna sting for a long time yet.

If it was a cunning conspiracy we could never get the explanation though? We will get bland PR stuff like everyone else

I've chosen 1, but if I could I'd add 'but that's what happens with the investment we've had'
