Porto v City Post Match Discussion thread

Porto are one of the best teams we have played this year. The first thirty minutes yesterday they would have ripped many teams apart. Due to our fantastic defending last night that didn't happen.

Easily our most sophisticated european performance under Mancini. The team he put out was much more balanced than in the CL.

This is the starting line up for the game with Bayern in Munich.

Hart; Richards, Kompany, K Toure, Clichy; Barry , Y Toure; Aguero, Nasri, Silva; Dzeko

Much too attacking, leaving Barry and Yaya exposed.

Against Napoli a better balance but I'd still argue you don't need 2 strikers away from home.

Hart, Kolarov, Zabaleta ,Kompany, Lescott
Milner, Silva, De Jong ,Y Toure, Dzeko , Balotelli

Last night we played more or less our best team. Yaya, Barry and de Jong all offer something different and compliment each other nicely.

While up front Nasri and Silva pulled the strings. The only question is then Balo or Sergio. Nice choice to have.

It's been good to see De Jong back to his best these past few games. Some have written him off and think he doesn't suit our system but that's rubbish, there will always be a place in the squad for him imo.

He doesnt suit our system if you look very closely or even just flashed your eyes past the screen you will have noticed that was last seasons formation and tactics
