Positive news about Corona Virus Updates

Once the first person has been vaccinated that signals the beginning of the end of the pandemic. Obviously it will still be a long process but even one person vaccinated is more than we have had up to this point.

Hopefully by this time next year I will have been to a few City games again. The Etihad will feel like the best place in the world when we're all sat in our seats again watching the boys. Until VAR ruins it of course.

Time to bump this.

500,000 people will have been vaccinated against Covid by end of today in the UK.

A member of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices which advises the CDC in the USA, suggests so far the vaccines appear to still work against the new mutant strain.

The Oxford vaccine is due to be approved within the week which will ramp up vaccinations greatly.

Novavax, which looks like it has the potentially best Covid vaccine candidate so far, has finished enrolment of its phase 3 trials in the UK (15,000 people).

Early efficacy data is expected at the start of January. The UK has ordered 60 million doses.

Peoples mental health will be fragile at best atm, but the light is at the end of the tunnel and I think it’s extra important to think positively.

I used to work as a journalist and know all too well that clicks matter most, so articles in papers are exceptionally dramatic to garner attention. But the truth is things will be back to normal soon enough!

I think this figure was a hopeful figure mentioned by Matt Hancock today.

How will it be decided who gets which vaccine ? Will it literally be a case of whatever is available at the time ?

Just seen this in a BBC web page

How can we rate the effectiveness of the UK vaccine? Is it a random variation (60 to90 percent) or does have age related effectiveness?
