Positives From Our Blackest Night In Beswick

Plenty of positives for me. We learned a hell of a lot about our squad last night with regards to playing the better teams ...

1) We must improve our left wing
2) Negredo's movement is better than Dzeko's
3) Fernandinho is never worth £30M
4) The central midfield needs to be less static - I suggest starting Yaya on the bench (but to be frank am not sure who to replace him with).
5) David Silva is class

Bayern played exceptionally well last night, but the result doesn't really affect our chances of qualifying - it was always going to be our results against CSKA that count.

it was painful to watch, lessons will be learned no doubt, and we'll come back stronger. Bayern simply out played us on the night. It was a shocker all round really, we have the class to live with anybody when we put it together, just one of those nights.

I'm glad you found a few, last night I could only see headlines like
City Capitulate, City Over-run, City in Ruins - it was like 1942 after we lost the Battle of Britain.

In reality it's just careers and reputations in ruins and a lot of hard won goodwill gone up in smoke. Well at least they've got a happy dressing room to console themselves in.

It was pretty awful but not our Blackest Night in Beswick. We got a spanking from the best team in the world. In fact I think that was the best team I've ever seen. Might be a bit O.T.T. but I've been watching City for nearly 40 years and I cant think of a team that would have lived with Bayern last night.

We can get over it.

This is what my renegade Evertonian spy offspring said last night. But no matter if they were the best team we've ever seen in Beswick, City should have made a better fist of it! Robben pissed me off when he was at CFC and at Real. In fact, he pisses me off just looking at him but he was smack on with his comment about thinking that it was easier than they thought it would be!

Mmm
Positives
Silva looked great when he came on
Negredo looks to have a real work ethic and good eye for goal

Surely this result will make Pelligrini rethink about playing 442 against a top team.

Negatives
Micah was awful and should never have played
Hart -Nuff said
Nastatic
Clichy going to sleep for their 2nd
Fernanindho-Not justifying his price tag yet

The intensity they played with should be an absolute lesson to us. That is how you play a high pressing game, it was like a swarm over every player whenever we actually got the ball. Never seen a team do that so well for nearly the whole game. Just hope we use it as a huge kick up the ass and bounce back as even though the performance was shocking, its not the end of the world. Everton on sat is massive and building up to the two CSKA games is so important.

David Silva's class shone like a beacon when he was on the park, only City player who could cope at their level last night
