Positives...

Although the result was not what we wanted i tookthe following positives out of the game:

Both our fullbacks including micah fucking richards are not first choice

We stil haven't conceded in open play

We have our typical city game out of the way

We Played Ok and created alot of chances, we look like a threat away from home which shows signs of improvement

Only three games gone and tbh i only personally expected 4-6 points from three tough (well what i consider tough) games

Another tough away game out of the way although the rest of the top four will win there probably

We now have a break to consoladate ourselves

We have a manager who cares and has alot of passion for the game, as was shown on the touchline (according to GMR)

*Stands up and applauds*

Agree with the above. A wave of positivity in a sea of negativity at the moment

i admit it was a penalty but im conviced the player was offside when the ball was sent in,have another look.i dont feel the fullbacks or micah in particular (some on here clearly totally dislike the lad and blame every loss on him, which is b------s) should be held responsible, look we should have been 3 - 0 nil up at half time but we missed glorious chances, should we then put all the blame on tevez - obviously not,but he in this case is more responsible than the fullbacks in my opinion but hey these things happen i thought sunderland rode their luck and on another day the game would have been all over at half time.
dont get personal we lost this game collectively as a team,no individual ws to blame, its a joke to single out micah for the defeat this game could easily have been a convincing victory.(what is it with our own fans jumping on the backs of homegrown, over the years i have seen this towards a few players get behind them, same fans that slag them to death are probably the ones who dont want are club to lose its identitytheir logic kind of p----s me off)
anyway i could go on allday about our own fans but i wont but get behind our team and play our pert and lets lift the roof at the blackburn game - cmon you mighty sky blues!!

We're currently two points better off than we were after the corresponding games last season. Averaged over a season such an improvement would see us finish 25 points better off. That would have won us the league last season.

Okay we got battered for 38minutes or so at Spurs, didn't exactly create loads of chances against Liverpool, and lost at Sunderland with a fairly average second half performance, Jo's shit, Adebayor is lazy, Richards needs a technical coach, and Mancini isn't wearing his scarf!

But...

1. We have greater potential than any sporting club in the world to have future stability (the main thing!) and success (the bonus!).
2. Our stadium and surrounding area is gonna be shit hot.
3. On this season we've still got Kolorov Boateng (two full backs which are needed) and Balotelli (who will jump ahead of Jo and Ade) as a striker; to come in.
4. Last season we had a record of: Spurs away, lost 3-0, 0pts; Liverpool home, drew 0-0, 1pt; Sunderland away, drew 1-1, 1pt. That's 2 points with a -3 gd!
This season we are: Spurs away, drew 0-0, 1pt; Liverpool home, 3-0, 3pts; Sunderland away, lost 1-0, 0pts. That's 4pts with a +2 gd (or 2pts with a +5 gd, better than last seasons corresponding fixtures!).
5. We aren't the Rags!
6. We will learn from yesterday!

Or, we have a points per game ratio of 1.33 which averaged over the season would see us on 51 points, and get Mancini the sack. Oops, just noticed the thread title. Sorry lads.

Those 6 points are quality :) THIS^^^^

From my point of view yesterday wasn't half as bad as people are making out. We lost because of two individual errors, Tevez and Micah, but overall I don't think anyone performed very poorly although I know everyone seems to be slatting our full backs they did fine for most of the game (and we have better ones out injured).

We absolutely outclassed them in the first half and should have had the lead but then when they came at us in the second half we panicked a bit and started to try and play them at their own game rather than keep doing what had worked for us in the first half. I don't think you can blame Mancini for this, its down to the players not being 100% comfortable yet with the style of football we are trying to play. What should of happened in the second half is what we did second half against Spurs, get on the ball and just slow the game down. Take the sting out of the oppositions attacking momentum and continue to build our own attacks patiently. The style of play Mancini is trying to implement is definitely the way forward for us (and this is coming from someone who is definitely not part of the Saint Bob brigade) and I just hope he has the guts to stick at it even if we do have a few hiccups along the way because I have been very impressed with what I have seen so far this season.

Shit Happens
Tevez scores and they have to come at us and it could have been 3 or 4.
Carlos won't miss another chance like that for maybe 10 years so it's over and done and on to the next game.
