Possible moving of EL3 Fans

move the pissy away fans to 119-121!!

i'm sure that would cause the people moving from those areas less hassle and they will be more than likely to sing than the bovril drinkers in the gods.

and we still get the banter but with one end all to city.

You do have a point, but not everyone up there sits on their hands for 90 mins. Plenty of us around where I sit make a good enough racket.

I would also add that I don't drink Bovril. Can't stand the stuff.
I've usually had a few pints of Holts when I get to EL3.

The Sheikh sits in Colin Bell level 2. You can't have the away fans throwing pies at his head.

It'll likely be some City fans, some away fans up there.

The equivalent good seats in CBL3 have all gone. The front 20 or so rows in all blocks are seasoncard seats already so I'm currently on row 4 halfway line in 305, if I have to move I won't get anywhere near as good a seat anywhere in the ground. I've sat there since we moved and had very similar seats in the old Kippax (and I used to stand in a similar position prior to that).
So I've gone home and away since 85 and now I should just put up with being moved on a whim that it may improve the atmosphere? I doubt this very much incidentally.
I didn't agree with all the Northstanders being moved (worked well eh?) and I don't agree now either. These seats aren't 'up in the gods' they are some of the best in the ground, our ground doesn't compare with say St James Park where away fans are miles in the air behind the goal.

at least you are all getting pre warned and "consulted" about the move

a couple of years ago I and a few thousand others were just upped and moved without warning from the North Stand Level 1 when the club decided (wrongly as it has transpired) to make the whole of that end a Family stand

So you would think the club would think twice about pissing off another couple of thousand fans then wouldn't you?

I will be pissed off it it happens without us getting first dibs at any free seats. I moved up there from EL2 because of the £200 price increase that was being implemented and I'm going to be even more pissed off if I'm told to move to an end. I moved away from there five years ago.

It wasn't done by the club, it was printed out by one of the guys who sits near me in 305 highlighting the possibility of being moved out of their permanently.

I sit on the halfway line in 305 and have done here since we moved and also in the Kippax for a number of years (had a season ticket since 85).

I'll be really pissed off if we have to move giving up some of the best seats in the ground to away fans especially because we won't be able to get equivalent seats anywhere else. I'll certainly be going along to POB to air my views.
I think the atmosphere is better when a decent number of away fans are present and close by. Are you seriously telling me that we would get more points if they were up in EL3? Don't we think we have enough quality now to cope?

Tonster, that was the question I was asking in my OP. Whoever the fan was in 305 that thought of the flyer, it would have more mileage if there was an petition of some sort. No matter how strong the feelings of the pro-One Enders, or the feedback from the the recent survey, the Club would surely listen if they were presented with a firm 'against' from incumbent SC holders.

You may have a point, personally I will see what is said at the POB meeting next week and take it from there.

-- Mon Oct 31, 2011 2:49 pm --

Great move by the club btw.

Why can't they move the Away Fans to CB3 ? I think you will find that the equivalent good seats on the half way line will already be taken over there.

As I sit in 304 I would not be affected by this, but personally I wouldn't really want to move unless I was offered an equivalent or better seat. Also, I don't really see how they can fill half of EL3 with away fans. They usually only occupy the lower tier of the south stand anyway. You would effectively only ever sell out the whole of the EL3 when we play a club with HUGE travelling support.

I think the away fans need to be close to the singing sections, otherwise the banter will be lost.

I wouldn't be so sure you won't be affected. EL3 holds around 4.5K which means 3K away fans would fill well over half the stand, could easily come into 304.

Well they can do one then ;-)

I've been sitting in effectively the same position since the Kippax was rebuilt.

Find me another seat with a good view, near the centre circle, on the front row and next to an aisle and I'll consider moving!

Quite, hopefully when a few thousand people realise the impact, this may gather some momentum.
Not to mention all the ones on level 2 may have something to say when 3K utd or bin dippers are sat directly above them.

Yes, spot on. The impact would be felt by much more than just 4 blocks.
As a previous poster rightly pointed out EL3 contains 4,500 seats. Moving the Away fans to EL3 would affect ALL of those SC holders, not just the ones moved. Those that are left would be in the minority. The opposite is the case at the moment down in the South Stand. Imagine that if it all kicks off on derby day with, say 3,000 rags right next to 1,500 Blues (including no doubt women & children).

To those in EL3 who don't believe it will affect them should think again. It will.

Would there be the minimum facilities (toilets and refreshments) if they were segregated there?

I've had my seat in 304 since we moved to the stadium and I'm perfectly happy up there. Best view in the ground for me. I don't want to have to move and end up slumming it with the plebs in the South Stand!

Banter doesn't in any way help the team. It might give us all a smirk for a few seconds, but no-one's going to remember the first time someone sang "who's the faggot in the pink?". We will, however, remember the game against Hamburg purely for the unity of the fans.

I remember the first time I felt the ground vibrate to 'blue moon' when we played Newcastle at home with Elano scoring that incredible free-kick. Something that will stay with me because it's a great feeling.

The best way to get the whole ground going is from one vocal section concentrating their efforts on supporting the players. That means moving the away fans, and as with Hamburg (where tickets were a fiver), that means vacating cheaper seats so fans can afford to cheer us on.

So you've sat in the East Stand since we moved here yet you know the Seasoncard arrangements for the stand opposite. I find that hard to believe. Do you have anything to back that up because I think you're making it all up?
