Possible moving of EL3 Fans

without sounding selfish i hope they do it as im in 304 and it would make the atmosphere miles better, however as there only about 4 of us that sing up there it make make our fans look really bad, at least the south stand lot get the banter going.

I am also in 304 and would love this to happen!

I understand that it would be good to get the singing section together, but for me, the reason that they are the singing stands is because the away fans are in the middle and its the banter that keeps everyone singing.

The banter would dissapear if they moved the away fans and make for a worse atmosphere in my opinion.

Banter doesn't in any way help the team. It might give us all a smirk for a few seconds, but no-one's going to remember the first time someone sang "who's the faggot in the pink?". We will, however, remember the game against Hamburg purely for the unity of the fans.

I remember the first time I felt the ground vibrate to 'blue moon' when we played Newcastle at home with Elano scoring that incredible free-kick. Something that will stay with me because it's a great feeling.

The best way to get the whole ground going is from one vocal section concentrating their efforts on supporting the players. That means moving the away fans, and as with Hamburg (where tickets were a fiver), that means vacating cheaper seats so fans can afford to cheer us on.

The equivalent good seats in CBL3 have all gone. The front 20 or so rows in all blocks are seasoncard seats already so I'm currently on row 4 halfway line in 305, if I have to move I won't get anywhere near as good a seat anywhere in the ground. I've sat there since we moved and had very similar seats in the old Kippax (and I used to stand in a similar position prior to that).
So I've gone home and away since 85 and now I should just put up with being moved on a whim that it may improve the atmosphere? I doubt this very much incidentally.

So you've sat in the East Stand since we moved here yet you know the Seasoncard arrangements for the stand opposite. I find that hard to believe. Do you have anything to back that up because I think you're making it all up?

I got my seasoncard late July last year (about 2 weeks before they sold out). All the central sections and front sections of CB3 were sold out with season cards. Maybe you should get your facts straight before you start mouthing off at another Blue.

Frankly the majority of Seasoncard holders in EL3 and CB3 have chosen to sit there for the view and selling the best seats in the house to away fans is simply ridiculous. People on EL2 are paying a lot of money for their season tickets and I am sure they won't appreciate a load of rags sitting above them on Derby day. In the majority of other grounds where the away fans are relegated to the upper tiers, they are usually plaved in the corners or behind the goal.

Like another poster said before, this will affect the majority of people in levels 2 and 3 of the East Stand and not only the people currently located in hte proposed blocks.

No, I made it all up, only been going home and away 25 years so of course I know nobody else who goes and don't know anyone who sits in CBL3. Don't patronise me.

I'll make it simple for you, 36K seasoncards, 3000 away fans, 2000+ corporate leaves only around 5/6000 empty seats. Check out online next time they are on sale, they are all on sale at the back of the 3rd tiers (both sides) and at the front of the lower tiers (i.e. the worst seats in the ground).

Of course they are, they are the seats nobody else wants, everyone who has a seasoncard has already picked most of the best seats. So I ask once again, why would you want to alienate another 3/4000 seasoncard holders when for the majority you can only get worse seats?

As for atmosphere, it mainly depends on the game and opposition, let's take Birmingham at home in the carling cup for example, it wouldn't matter whether we had one end or not, it's always gonna be quiet, Hamburg was loud because of the occassion and nothing else.

move the pissy away fans to 119-121!!

i'm sure that would cause the people moving from those areas less hassle and they will be more than likely to sing than the bovril drinkers in the gods.

and we still get the banter but with one end all to city.
I'm in 119 and would be more than happy for this to happen.

You will find that most of the city fans that want the away fans in EL3 don't sit up there themselves. Just leave the away fans where they are now that way nobody has to be relocated.

hope it happens if im being honest would rather have operation on end in effect and have a good atmosphere for once, people say it doesnt mean theres going to be a good atmosphere, however I would rather have 6000 or 7,000 fans stood next to each other rather than seperated and being slicenced by away fans in the middle

..............I wouldn't be so sure you won't be affected. EL3 holds around 4.5K which means 3K away fans would fill well over half the stand, could easily come into 304.

The third tiers must hold a minimum of 6000 each, I'd say closer to 7000.

I personally think the away fans should be shifted to the SS/CB corner to get them away from the cameras.

I sit in EL3 308 and although i have heard the rumor the official line from the Supporters Club general secretary is that there are no plans to change this for league games as there would be a lot of Health and Safety issue with regards to facilities, egress, refreshments and segregration! That saying it will not be trialed this season at least!

After sitting in the same seat since we moved to Etihad i would be gutted to move. Although i do understand what City are trying to achieve but surely creating a 'singing section' as they did against Villareal which didnt work....

Is it just me or is it the fans who sit next to the away fans that make the most noise? cast your mind back to Maine Road it was the North Stand now at the new stadium it is the South Stand so how does moving the away fans into EL3 change the atmosphere? Will it be a case of EL3 that is the new singing section?

Come on City dont do it!

Do you think that it is a coincidence that the two singing parts of the ground are directly next to the away fans?

so city decide to move away fans to el3,senario,3000 unhappy fans being moved, constant complaints from city fans on el1 el2 getting struck by objects being thrown down from level 3,realisation that the atmosphere gets worse due to lack of banter between sets of fans, club decide to relocate away fans back to south stand.why not relocate family stand and make north stand a singing section.
