I think you've spent too much time in America, or at least spent too much time vaguely taking in dodgy child like, American political propaganda bullshit, if you think that fascism and socialism are, either currently or historically, on comparable, although opposite, points on the political scale.

You could have a point with communism, although many wouldn't agree. Then again, I don't see many people going round spouting communism doctrine (or fascism, for that matter).
