Post counts

Low post-count posters and new users deserve all they get the cunts. It's character building for them. A kind of 'hazing' if you will. The cunts.

I take your point and i believe you in what you say, but thats my opinion, a controversial post generates traffic thats why threads gets of topic and mods will step in but posts that wouldn't be are posted because of it..

Your opinion is wrong.

I'm a moderator who reads the mod forum and an administrator who built the infrastructure and due to which speaks to the owner constantly and at great length. In my entire time here as mods we've discussed almost every single proposal, idea and situation that anybody could come up with and at no point has this ever been mentioned by anybody nor has it even been hinted at or implied.

I think a troll/wum/rag or anything in that manner can be easily identified by his posting behaviour, so I don't find this a bad idea at all. I'm hardly a native speaker, yet when I take part in a, let's say, 'constructive argument', I hope most of you appreciate it and see that I am here only for the good of the forum. Those who don't like the idea might be already bored because of the WUMs, but they will not have an 'easier life' on this forum in my opinion if it stays like this. But it might encourage those 'better ones' who already lost their interest because some on here ridicule them for...well, their low post-count.

So I don't have any problem with this as long as the joining date can be seen, of course, otherwise I'll become a gloryhunter (and simultaneously a rag), but for now I'm only a bastard who doesn't support his local team. :)

As a relatively new member, I did found the post count useful in that you could guage comments against past contribution. I can understand the rationale for removing them but the Mods seem to do a good enough job weeding out those with less than honourable intentions so for me, the controls in place seemed to be effective without removing the post count. Also, I can quite understand that a contributor with a high post count might also feel that they had been stripped of their medals! In terms of clicking on a user name to view the post count, yes, but its not as convenient. Love the forum irrespective of showing a count or not!

I found them to be useful to see how sad of a bastard you are. If you joined in 2009 say, and had over 40k posts then it just showed what a sad sack you are.
ha

if anyone is really that bothered then put your post count in your location like quiet_riot has done ;)

How am I gonna know who to flatter and who to ignore now? Ah, it's such a non issue, although if having them readily visible really does alter the way people think/reply or take notice of a post then I'm glad they're now hidden.

Seems a strange time to do it when the transfer forum is full of wum's

I want them back so i recognise who i am talking to and can form an opinion on new posters and what they post

If you want to protect new posters then explain to them when they join that they can report a poster who is giving them a hard time then you can look into it and decide for yourself mod's
