Tale of two halves,although thought we were doing ok till the lucky deflection fell to the biter,it then knocked us the rest of that half.second half up till clichy sent off was all us,still gonna be a big task to get through but never say never you just never know...

what's the point of playing when the tie is over? I mean a great 2nd half performance yet we go to Spain needing 2 goals and not conceding any at the back which i am sure won't happen.

CL knockouts dont begin when you are 2-0 down...they begin from the first minute. We did the same thing against Bayern but Kun saved us. Too many players on big wages not performing. Do A.Madrid, Dortmund of last year, Chelsea have that much better players than us? Yes those teams always progress and make games of it...we just fold which is soo disappointing.

As for slagging Bony off? Deary fucking me. He had 20 minutes and for 15 of them we were down to ten men. Our two most creative players had been taken off and we were on the back foot. It's not like we gave him much service in that time.

Lots of 1st half talk about the manager, the team selection, and the 4-4-2

In reality, in the first half we gave them far too much respect (how many times have I posted this after a UCL match thread?!?)

2nd half, we went for it a bit and put them under pressure.

The formation wasn't the issue - the appetite and the desire was. Only criticism of the boss was that he got the ferns the wrong way around

Bullshit!!! When will some of you get it? Sure we played better in the 2nd, but overall they are vastly superior. They passed around 27 times for their 2nd goal. Slashed us right open numerous more times. They have Messi, Neymar, Suarez as their front line. Each player at some point have singlehandedly carried a team. They pass at a lecelbonly Yaua and Silva could muster. It is not a fluke. They are more talented a than er are. We simply have to understand that, then play to our strength. Protect the outside to lunut their 2 best players out wide. Etc. Yet we chose to start with some dross and technical poo in the middle if the pack.

exactly...this 2nd half performance thing is getting annoying. we could only get better after that shambles of a first half when they could have been 4-0 up.
I have said all the time.....bar aguero, Silva, Toure and at times Kompany and Zaba, the team is very average.

If we don't buck up our ideas we have to face the battle of losing Aguero and Silva. They were amazing tonight and made me as a blue really proud. Aguero was literally bulling their CB's

I know those two are model pro's and have signed new contracts but they are amongst the best in Europe in their positions (for me Kun is the best striker in the world) and no matter what they may say, they want to be playing in the latter stages of the CL like Messi, Ronaldo, Costa, Robben etc... are doing every year with their teams.

I can't see Aguero being happy with scraping through the group stages and being knocked out in the first round. Its time to improve the team in the summer, get rid of the dead wood like Fernando and buy players to compete with Chelsea, Madrid and Bayern etc

Dimechelis was ok I thought. Fernando on the other hand, don't even get started on that. Plenty in the fernando thread.

I would actually toy with the idea of Kompany in DM, he always wants to play on the front foot and stop attacks further up the pitch, when he gets it wrong it costs us because of the space behind, with a centre half behind him it might work, it would also help with the tempo and getting at their midfield, Barca's weakness is they are physically weaker than us, they can be bullied

Play him with dinho and toure, the two that play with aguero is the sticking point

I think Fernando was poor in the first half but I'm the second half I thinking did really well, a big improvement from him.
