Post Match Remedies after a defeat? What do you do to cheer yourself up?

yeah, well,

if that's the case,
stupid as you may deem me,
maybe it would help your cause if you adopted the use of apostrophe...

"christs" needs one
as does "gods"

also,
if i'm being picky
there should likely be a comma between "work" and "mate".

All correct. Well done Calum. Take a lolly out of the jar and go back to your seat.

March 19, 2009, UEFA Cup second leg match: Galatasaray vs. Hamburg. The first match ended 1-1 away. Gala is short-handed, Kewell is playing as a center-back, but we're hopeful. That year, the final is in Istanbul,Fener stadium:)) winning a uefa cup at their stadium:)) fener fans are in panic. and somehow I've (we have) convinced myself we're going to win it. :)

We’re leading 1-0 in the first half. In the second half, we make it 2-0. But Hamburg equalizes to 2-2 after two ridiculous mistakes, and we're eliminated. the game ended 2-3

At that time, I'm a 29-year-old banker living in Amsterdam. It’s during the financial crisis, and my contract is set to expire at the end of the year. I'm worried about whether they'll renew it because I have friends whose contracts weren’t renewed and had to return to Turkey. returning turkey is ok, i am already homesick and depressed at amsterdam. but have to work at amsterdam at least two more years due to my military obligation. if they donr renew my contract, i will return to turkey and directly to army for 6 months:))

I had never felt so demoralized as I did after that defeat. The next day, I skip work and openly say, "Gala got eliminated, and I'm upset." :) I stay home and drink until Sunday, even though I need to be extra careful about my contract renewal. I go through a tough time until July when the renewal decision is made. Thankfully, they extended my contract. :)

As a result, cheering yourself up after a defeat is almost impossible. Normal defeats take 1-2 days; major defeats last 3-4 days. You get used to living with it—like the pain of love. It's important to get through that period.

No. I'm not having that. There is no natural pause between "work" and "mate", so why a comma?
in the spoken word there is no noticeable pause,
but in the written word a comma helps avoid confusion

Gods work mate.

without the comma he might have been meaning...
the work mate of god.
rather than what he actually meant...
the work of god, mate.

"mate" is a form of name.
it's quite normal to insert a comma before a name in a sentence.
e.g.
i'm not having that, calum.

if you don't insert the comma,
it could mean...
i'm not having that fella called calum.

I used to let City's results determine my mood for weekends, Now I'm not like that at all, If we get beat I'm pissed off for a few minutes after the whistle and soon forget about it and take it on the chin.

It's football at the end of the day it's not life or death.

I actually get more annoyed being at my daughters games if they lose or she's upset about how she plays, That matters more to me than City. Trying to make her feel better about herself and get her more upbeat when in bad situations in football.
