Post match | South China v City

Typical pre season friendly on a bog, don't look too much into the performance.

Thought Rodwell stood out when he came on, looked very sharp.

Rodwell has the potential to be a mainstay in this side for years, brilliant prospect. Archetypal modern box to box player; incredible mobility and drive, so powerful and has genuine pace, can carry the ball, passes fairly well (but needs to improve), able to score goals. He's got it all.

Nasri, while having a fairly modest game, really looks sharp this summer. He's always been brilliant technically but he needs to translate it onto performances on the pitch. Hope he can tbh, I'd much rather see him on the left than anybody else.

-- Thu Jul 25, 2013 12:25 am --

I don't have any coaching badges, I'm only 26, still enjoying being able to play. Once I feel like retirement is on the horizon I'll look into going into coaching in some regard, but that's a long way away. I won't go on further, I know many on here tend to get frustrated when I talk about myself.

My only concern at the moment is `Fernandinho`, I hadn`t seen much of him before he signed for us, just Champs league highlights. I havn`t seen anything in the friendlies , that makes me think he`s better than De Jong. We seem to have spent a lot of money on him and Garcia to improve that position, without succeeding. I really do hope i am proved wrong when the season gets going proper.
Yup, me tooo :(...with all the hype, hope he comes good

I think a lot of what MJM has to say is quite insightful and I agree with him 80% of the time, but there's an air about his posts that causes me dislike everything he says. He might know more about tactics than the rest of us but he's gone about explaining it in the most condescending and pompous way possible. He's probably more qualified than most of us to give his opinion on football because of his background, but referring to his past to constantly justify his opinions is pointless.

If he'd made a few insightful posts and then explained (when asked) why his posts are so detailed then people would have far more time for him. But he introduced himself as an academic and stuck his chest out - I'm not sure why he's surprised at the reaction he's had.

I guess he's not as insightful as he thinks...

Why should anyone believe you?
Because I'm excellent analyst and judge of a player. Everything I post on this site is full of insight and is always full of in-depth analysis, I give genuine, thought out reasoning behind every one of my opinions so there can never be any kind of confusion.

I'm sure you'll post something I disagree with eventually ;).
