Post match thread : Borussia Monchengladbach away CL

Independent headlines.......Mata inspires United win with audacious
Since this was the front four line-up that many wanted. What's the verdict so far? Granted it's one game but needs a bit of work.

Silva obviously is not yet 100% but looks promising

Aguero is still finding his feet with the changes up front, but when he does........................shit the bed!

one of MP's huge qualities is that he is usually very calm and doesn't seem like he gets easily stressed......

not tonight......he looked like he had the weight of the world on his shoulders this evening right from the first whistle.....does seem himself at the present MP and that walking out of the press conference the other week is another signal that all is not well.

Hopefully this will release some of the pressure on him and the team as we look so nervous (not just tonight but over the last few games)

MP needs to sort that left hand side of our defence out as its the same no matter who we play.........shocking!

agree needs to be addressed....pellers face on the tv screen at the end said it all

Does our fantastic four have enough goals in it when aguero isn't firing. Whatever their qualities, silva and sterling don't score enough. De bruyne's hardly a 20 goal a season player either.
We need about 4 goals a game with some of our defending.

Happy and relieved with the result but it was a really poor performance.

2 set piece goals and we got the pen from a set piece iirc.

MDM looks ready to retire and him and Otamendi are a poor partnership at (the faster paced) club football but CM is so clearly our achilles heel in europe. If Dinho flies past the man our CBs are totally exposed. And MP doesn't seem to particularly care.

Seems clear we need to play 2 CM and a DM behind, not have 2 DMs and 1 AM, it's not compact enough. Not saying we need to turn into a defensive team, Barca play this way.
