Post Match Thread: City vs Everton

We were poor in the first half I thought, and if he had to make subs to put it right, doesn't that suggest he got it wrong in the first place?

What was Toure's contribution? At least he took him off after 66 minutes but he should not have started.

In the end we battered them and deservedly went through.

Ffs Marv, will you give the Toure bashing a rest. He wasn't near his best last night by any means but he was ok, one major contribution he made was showing Otamendi how to win the ball off Barkley by getting his body in front of Barkley when he had the ball again in a dangerous position.

I'm not bashing him, I'm bashing the decision to start him however poorly he is playing game after game.

He did the same with Kompany last season. Once he has a bee in his bonnet about a certain player he is relentless and is too stubborn to change his mind and give them any credit no matter how they perform. Will be someone else next season.

think played first half about right we only needed 1 goal so no need to go gun ho that's how their goal came about we was left wide open after miss placed pass then we stepped up nothing to loose

Fair play to Manuel last night. I have been very critical of him lately, but his subs were the reason we won the game. Hopefully Kevs injury is not as serious as it looked and he will be back soon. Great to see Zaba back and firing. Oto is like a heat seeking missile without the guidance system. Maybe some serious coaching would calm him down and make him hold position. That or tranquillisers.
Otamendi was perfect last night. Maybe the public humiliation he got on TV after West Ham benefited us last night. I know Aguero got mom but Otter was a contender

I don't know if I also speak for StockportMackem (I hope I do), but a massive congratulations from this Sunderland supporter for getting to yet another final. it seems as if that competition is made for MCFC. I don't like either of the Merseyside clubs and love it when anyone beats them - but the icing on the cake is to be beat by a club that my own get's on well with in the semi-final of a cup competition.

I was on late's at Nissan this week so I didn't see SSNHQ last night for regular updates (I don't have SkySports). I hear Sergio played very well indeed. Good to see De Bruyne score. Looked as if you weren't going to make it when Barkley scored in 20 minutes. I dare say with a fully fit side the score would have been more dominant?

Otomendi was the most culpable player for the Everton goal. Sometimes he just needs to stay goal side and on his feet, he is brilliant one on one but it is fine line between being aggressive and playing the percentages when required.

First post, YAAAAAWWWNNNN

Second post, perfect eh? Perfectly went to ground to try win the ball from Barkley when he needed to just stay on his feet and not allow him a clean strike on goal.

And I was right. Kompany was awful last season. And this season he started really well.

I always stick to the football. I wish everyone else would and just comment on the game they watch.

I enjoyed it. great to get to Wembley, but we'd be all the stronger as a side if Toure was used as an impact sub and to my mind that's not me being stubborn, but the manager being stubborn.

Well I will have to watch it all again on TV. My impression of the match was that Otamendi had an excellent game.
