Thought he played alright but wasn't really what we needed, with the short passing and close dribbling, which showed when he was forced into central midfield and let de Bruyne do the job in the attack.Just me or anyone else disappointed with Silva again? Are we expecting too much of him?
Carelessly lost the ball a few times and Deulofeu should have scored off one of them.

I thought he played in a midfield three first half at Leicester. It was reported anywhere but it looked to me like he was playing left side of a three. I was behind the goal so not sure my view was perfect. But he seemed deeper than normal there.
I can't remember, but I wonder if it could be that in a Pep system, where everyone works a bit harder & the team is much more efficient & better organised, that instead of a Yaya & two more energetic players, as started last night, we have Silva + 2 as the midfield 3, with the fullbacks adding to midfield, then say Sterling, Aguero, DeBruyne or similar in front of them. Depending on the oppo of course.
Bayern get away with Thiago in there & Silva's like Roy Keane compared to him. Xavi & Iniesta were hardly Colin Bell without the ball. The system allowed them to run the game. With a full 10 players all pressing together, perhaps Silva can do another 5 years in a slightly different role.
