Post Match Thread: City vs Everton

You don't get to play for Bayern if you're a donkey - great bit of business MDM.
Will struggle with out and out pace badly but awareness is second to none and knows how to defend despite a prevalence for giving away some needless free kicks.
I think he'll be gone in the summer but will go with good wishes.

My favourite part of the evening was Zabaleta making his way from the right side of the pitch to the left over a series of tackles culminating in a crunching 50/50 tackle with two Everton players! A fucking hero!
back to his best now. The Zab that started the season is a pale imitation of the real one. The warrior is back.

Or full backs are outstanding.

That's his main fault, he can't stay on his feet. Looks great when he wins the ball, but when he doesn't he's either left in a heap on the floor and we are exposed or he gives away a free kick. I expected more for what we paid.
Totally agree, I love a defender who can make a good tackle, but 50% of his don't need making the way he does it. He reminds me a bit of Zab when he first arrived, he made reckless challenges at first, but he learned to time them better, and became a great defender, lets hope for more of the same.

I thought we started reasonably well but then just as we were starting to gain some control we needlessly gave away the cheap goal to make it harder for ourselves, again.

The sub's on the hour certainly stretched the game we found more space & finally started taking our chances. Rather than moaning about the injustice of life perhaps Martinez should take a look at the fact they only had 2 shots all night in a cup semi final, that sure as hell isn't the referee's fault.
