If this happens they'll tear themselves apart. I read yesterday a quote from a sitting Tory MP who briefed anonymously saying that the Tory factions hate each other so much it could cause the party to split.

The desire for power has long papered over the cracks in the Party, but things would appear to be coming to a head. Perhaps the next few years will lead to the political Right fracturing in a way that mirrors what has happened on the Left.

Agreed. The country is in no position to just walk away from the EU within 20 months. Something needs to give, such as immigration, and it needs to be done over a much longer period of time. I'd be looking at a decade to phase certain things out.
Nobody thought this thing through at the time of the referendum, not the government and certainly not the voters. It was carried out in the spirit of some great fantasy where everything was going to turn out exactly as the Leave voters wanted. You would never think we were a mature democracy with centuries of political and diplomatic experience, it makes us look like a newly formed country with a politically immature insecure population who doesn't quite know how to handle it's place in the world.

The Conservative's campaign was so poor that they made Corbyn almost electable. Unfortunately for Labour, far too many people, myself included, would never vote for him due to his history. If Labour had someone like Andy Burnham leading they'd have pissed it against May. Both partys desperately need new leaders.

Andy Burnham is a corporate puppet, like Blair.

We've had enough of puppets with smiley faces. Faces that smile at you, while corporate business stick their sticky hands up the puppets arses to dance whatever dance they want them to do.

Oh how the tables have turned. Just think where Labour was 7/8 weeks ago in comparison to the Cons and look at it now. Lovely.

Isn't that the truth, Labour might as well just put their feet up and watch the Tory bun fight.

It seems increasingly likely that the Tories will split over the next few years.

They'll fall in line as soon as the threat to their cushy existence grows large enough. Doubt of them would put their ideology above their status.

Thus further reinforces the need for proper cross party discussion and support. You simply cannot be held to ransom over something as important as this. If they try I'd hope she does the right thing and explains how the future of the country isn't more important than her job, and they can shove their leadership challenge up their arse.

Don't hold your breath. I posted some quotes last night in the Brexit thread from a speech she made in April 2016 where she eloquently made the overwhelming economic case for Remain only to turn into the hardest of leavers as soon as the prime ministership came into view. I'm afraid the wellbeing of the country comes a distant second to personal ambition.

If you think the 2015 leadership election was engineered, you must also believe the PLP no confidence vote in Corbyn a year later that triggered the second leadership election was as well and that the relentless attacks on Corbyn are somehow orchestrated, with all this leading back to Len McClusky. If you believe all that then you probably believe Corbyn shot Kennedy while eating a veggie burger on the grassy knoll.
Can you prove he didn't

It's quite depressing to see the number of people that use the term "would of" in place of the term"would have". It is quite an indictment of the literacy of our nation when people use words and phrases without having an awareness of their actual meaning.
I invite some clever dick to pick out a mistake in my post thereby ironically proving what I am saying is correct.

Your grammar lacks any punctuation outside of a 'full stop'.

Quite an indictment of the literacy skills of modern society, which is rather different than "an indictment of the literacy of our nation" as, here, you are picking out [and including] all aspects of literacy competency with such a sweeping statement.

Innit.

Besides Corbyn, I an only see David Milliband as a serious contender to be the PM at a future election and he isn't even an MP at the moment.

I rate them both higher than Bojo and Gove btw.
Is Chuka not an MP? I realise he stepped out of the race previously but maybe after such a growth of enthusiasm for Labour he may reconsider
