Politics doesn't make for kind people. It delivers liars, cheats, scoundrels, the inconsiderate and the self-serving. I think I've never deserved any of this mix.

In fairness, I think it always has. I think the difference now is more in the voting public, the increasing narcissism and the decline of social responsibility.

The British people finally showed they are more interested in real political ideas rather than soundbites and vague promises.

To echo some of the posters on here I hope this forms the bedrock for a new viable left ticket in UK politics. Will be interesting to see if coverage of Corbyn changes now that more people have directly heard his message rather than filtered through the media.

Bloody fell asleep glad neither labour or Tories won, as someone who wants a new voting system or next best a more centrist government this is good but it doesn't half cock up brexit negotiations.

Labour will stay put with their policies and bring on board some MPs who have been a bit unsupportive of corbyn. The Tories should pick another leader, do a new more left leaning manifesto and try again. I cannot see either winning an election though certainly not with a healthy majority.

That was the best part of this result. The papers have run a none stop smear campaign against him and a lot of people have stuck two fingers up at the cunts who run those papers.

The kids,and they can only be kids,that have voted for Labour have done with no memory. It's the only explanation. They haven't seen the damage Labour have done in the past. Poor tories had to come in and save the country.

The Tories who have run the Country for most of the last 200 years BUT seem to want to blame any issues in Britain on former Labour governments, the EU, a few immigrants etc. - anyone but them. Why wouldn't the kids - as you condescendingly call them vote for change? Tuition fees, Zero Hour contracts, no prospect of ever getting in the housing ladder etc. whilst the 'golden generation' rich from their final salary pensions and rich from the profits of the housing boom demand cuts to public services to fund their pensions (remember pensioners are the one group not or see their incomes fall since 2010) and changes to inheritance tax to protect their housing windfalls. We are a country deeply divided on age lines and the youth of Britain do need to fight back to get the kind of deal their parents and grandparents enjoyed that is now being denied to them

The 'kids' aren't voting for change. They want government handouts the same as anyone else who might be on a 'final salary' pension, whether it's free tuition, free specs, free bus passes, free tickets into Level 2 at The Etihad. I think there are but three kinds of voters - the self-interested ones who just ask which party is gonna give me most and would flit from Tory to Labour and vice versa within a handful of elections, those who are dyed-in-the-wool party supporters and the rest of us! I think the first group are the largest and they are the ones who affect any result.

Was May's election to lose and, ultimately, she hasn't won. Several missteps, among them opting not to turn up for the televised debate and choosing to eschew policies for personal attacks, are to blame and that's down to May.

Cameron, a far more capable individual on every level, cocked it up and took responsibility for the error by stepping aside. It's time May does the same thing.

The vote up here was all about Indy 2. When the threat to have an independent Scotland is removed, which is now and most of them will vote labour..

There are a group what I call socialist monarchists, there is a sectarian aspect to this too. Corbyn speaking to the IRA, even though it helped get the agreement doesn't matter so that hardcore will never vote for him but a lot will.
