He wasn't great. He was as good as what you would expect such an expensive player to be. I'm sorry but for 50m you should get a player who does occasionally best his man and does finish off a clear one vs one.

Sterling's problem isn't 'finishing and composure'. His problem is far deeper than that. He simply doesn't strike the ball cleanly. Even when he is passing. He doesn't even control the ball cleanly when receiving passes and he often leaves the ball behind him when he dribbles. He just isn't a technically clean footballer.

Not only that, but by playing him on the left wing we are negating his main asset.

Amen

We just looked like we couldn't be arsed most of the time. Far too much passing the ball backwards or sideways and too little forward movement.
Much too slow in possession and too loose at the back.
Missed a few good chances.
Better?

Just sound like city on a bad day again, hope we can turn this shite around soon

Pretty much yes. He is quick but other than that I struggle to see what technical attributes he has that make him good enough to be a prem footballer.

I hope I'm wrong, I want all blues to be successful. But it comes off his shin more than his boots. I've never seen him strike a ball cleanly and as for his crossing...

Oh his crossing...
Sorry, even if you don't think he's good enough for us to say he's not a premier league footballer just makes your opinions irrelevant.

Wouldn't say we were shite tonight like v the dippers. We just weren't good.
We are desperate for a playmaker and will be fine as soon as Dave is back.

We were unlucky tonight. We are getting destabilized by injuries and were up against one of the best teams in Europe.
If we had scored first, and we should have, it would have been our night.
Don't worry blues, we're comfortably in Ghent last 16, nearly top of the Prem and should be in the semis of the league cup soon.

How dare you disrupt the doom of the thread and general misery of the forum with your optimism. It's the worst EVER period in our history and horrible to be a City fan these days.

Fair do's.
Pretty arrogant statement that, but anyway.
I think there are loads of players currently playing in the premier league who shouldn't be. I clearly just have higher standards than you.

No words, it was all in place to go and not lose. Lots of chances, no goals. One chance for juve, one goal. Pisses me off.

Defensively this team was ok. Midfield was alright but attack was non existent.

With no striker (don't even count the unfit aguero as one) were not going to win any games, I can't see where we're going to end up. Actually I lied, barca or bayern await, don't tell me otherwise.

Juve played brilliantly, pogba was exceptional and showed why we should've took the plunge.

Joe hart got injured, the medical team is really taking the piss now, how many injuries is that? Sack them all now.

Yaya was shocking, yet again. Fernandinho off for Delph was questionable, killed off any chances we had really, even though Delph played well and showed why he was recruited.

Sterling had a golden chance, same for fernandinho.

Pellegrini tonight has shown what a fraud he is, mancini's team, who has pellegrini even recruited that has actually looked alright? Fernandinho signed before pellegrini was even here so don't say him, when the time is right (end of season), he has to go. Enough is enough, guardiola or ancelotti await.
Did you doze off after they scored? Joe pulled off a string of good saves in case you missed them. Defensively we were far from OK.

I'm slightly baffled by the (generally) overly-negative reactions in this thread. What exactly were people expecting out of an away trip to one of the best teams in Europe? A draw would have been a good result. It turned out that City were beaten narrowly, but fairly. They didn't play particularly well, but they weren't terrible either. City aren't a Barcelona or Bayern, who can realistically expect to win against pretty much anybody they play.
