Winning the Premier League seems a long way off at this moment in time, firstly with the injuries we have, and secondly our manager and his insistance on the high defensive tactics, which are killing us in my opinion!!

If we weren't coming into this game after one of the most inexcusably inept performances by manager and players in many a long year, this game wouldn't seem as bad as is being made out. Unfortunately we are and it does.
A depressing night - the realisation that some players simply aren't good enough or are fading quickly and that, as nice a man as he is, Pelle definitely isn't capable of improving it.

We've got the wrong mentality in this competition. The people at the top talk about winning it yet our fucking manager says in his press conference last night that it's important to avoid Barcelona so that we don't go out. We needed to keep it tight & not to lose as our priority tonight and, with benefit of hindsight, I'd have played a midfield of the two Ferns, Toure and Delph as a diamond, then Aguero with de Bruyne behind him.

Might even have gone 3-5-2, with Sagna in the back 3, Kolarov and Navas as wing backs. The two Ferns and Yaya in the midfield plus Sergio/KDB up front.

We are miles away from getting beyond the last 16 to be honest , its never going to happen with this group of players and this manager.

We need much better personnel that know which players are made for both the premiership and the Chumps League and the personnel that have the ability to get them.

We need a manager who knows how to get the team playing at a tempo and intensity required to do well in both comps and above all playing smarter than we do in the main now.

It's also apparent that something is drastically wrong with our medical set up and the way we manage players to minimise soft tissue injuries.

Who's next , we are more likely to obtain another hamstring injury on Saturday than we are beating Southampton.

Yes you have hit the nail on the head here,there looks no real plan or proper tactics to cope with the injuries,no inspiration,no extra zip from anywhere. Sure we qualified for the next stage but if we are honest we were lucky.Seville at home and Borussia Mönchengladbach away we should have lost. We played ok in both games against Juventus but still got beat. Seville away is the only top notch performance we have had.

It way carry some fake kudos getting to the quarter final but as soon as we come up against a top side we are out anyway.
