we lost 2-1; they got a penalty 3 mins from time.

Apart from a couple of dodgy lino decisions it could have been worse.

Well, if it wasn't for a couple of great saves from their goalie, it would have been much better. Anyway the purpose of the game was to run the rule over the fringe players. You can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs.

Well, if you didn't notice I was on a fishing trip, I'm very sorry Mr. Trout

Not a bad game tbf. Goals conceded through brain fades from Kolarov and Razak.

Positives:

- Fernandinho, Dzeko, Nasri

Negatives:

- Kolarov, Sinclair

Dzeko! Get to f@ck

Much better performance in this game than the previous. His first touch was decent and his link-up play was solid. He did misplace a few passes but overall he contributed well. Could've had an assist if not for Nasri's miss.

Positives- Nasri is looking sharp, Rodwell too, fernandinho looked good after half time, Zabba hasn't changed.
Negatives- Sinclair doesn't look anywhere near good enough, Barry , a player who I have loved at city, should now be moved on, Dzeko flatters to deceive, Boyata same as Sinclair.

What you have to remember with Barry is he's a lot older and heavier than other players, so it will take a little longer to get that technique up to speed.

Hasn't changed my opinion from the start of last season.

We have some elite level players, some solid players, and quite a few mediocre non-contributors. Hope to fuck we clean house before the deadline. Not a knee-jerk from this game, but something that's been a problem for years.
Spot-on. Our fringe players and reserve squad is the worst for decades. Razak, Boyata, Nimley and Sinclair are not kids any more. They are lower league players. There is no point giving game time to players who will never make the first team. We should use friendlies to improve fitness and learn things. Playing people like Suarez is a wasted opportunity.

Personally I think we needed Michael Caine.

Only joking but a far better performance than against Supersport United!

I missed the Sunsport game, but fuck me we must have been truly fucking dire if tonight represents an improvement. Only a pre-season friendly and all that, but we were fucking gash I'm afraid. The lack of pace out wide and up top continues to result in our creating very few chances, and the number of players that aren't good enough or athletic enough is longer than a hippo's dick.
I hope that Pellegrini's much vaunted ability to get the best out of young players proves to be correct, but in honesty I just don't see Nimely, Suarez or Razak ever being good enough for the Premier League, never mind to play for a top ranked club like City in it. Sinclair, Dzeko, Kolarov, Lescott (even though he did nothing wrong tonight), Garcia, they're weak links. Still that's why Pellers was brought in, to maximise everyone's potential eh?
No injuries and another fitness boost are the main things, but the standard was still undeniably poor

On the flip side Sinclair was brutally poor, couldn't even beat these low level defenders and should be sold quickly. We could waste time 'trying' to make him fit in but his level is just too low for City. And don't really understand why the club has any desire to hold on to Kolarov.

Agreed. Sinclair has got to go. I can count on one hand the amount of decent plays I remember him making in the past year.

Kolorov is being held on to because Clichy needs back up. Lescott was playing LB today if I'm not mistaken so maybe Pelli was giving him a tryout to play as the back up left fullback. Doubt it, but you never know.

Some good signs in the first half... Nasri was awesome in flashes. Garcia played well in defence. Milner worked hard and scored. I liked some of the pressing and quick inter-play, problem was like last season there was no end product.

IMO, the players that "matter" are doing good so far. Nowhere near 100% yet. But Fernandinho is going to be quality. Nasri doing well etc... Navas, Aguero, Silva, Jovetic. Negredo yet to play.

We are losing these games because of players like Razak, who clearly isn't progressing very well. And yes..Kolarov should be sold.
