Utilitarianism proposes that decisions should be guided by the principal of “the greatest good to the greatest number.” As J.S.Mill pointed out, this ignores the legitimate aspirations of minorities.

The thought experiment I remember regards illegal parking. Take Utilitarianism's aguments in their purest form, and go measure the impact on patients due to delays caused to ambulances and fire engines from illegal parking leading to jams and blocked roads. One could easily use the Utilitarian position to justify the death sentence as a normal penalty for parking transgressions.
