Apparently Shaquille O'Neal was offered the role to play John Coffey in The Green Mile. However filming clashed with the start of NBA season so the role was given to Michael Clarke Duncan instead who would be nominated for an Oscar as best supporting actor.

Not sure the film would be as good with Shaquille O'Neal in it
