Postcode Lottery / National Lottery

How can everyone on the street win it ?
There are approximately 1.8million postcodes in the UK with an avg of about 15 households using each. When a postcode is drawn out then the prize money is shared between the people in that postcode who have entered the draw. If only 1 household has entered they win the lot and the rest of the households kick themselves. It gets a little more complicated when multiple households enter and some of them have paid for multiple entries. If two households have entered, one with one entry and one with two then one gets a third and the other gets 2/3rds.

I think.

I know that I was just disputing the fact he said 'everyone' on the street WON, well unless everyone was participating they can't have :)

Premium Bonds !! Me and my sister have had them for more that 60 years and neither of us have ever won a penny.
I've had a Premium Bond since the very first week they came out and never won a penny!! :-)

I've never heard of anyone I know winning big on the Lottery but have had 5 friends, in different post codes, who've won large amounts on the Postcode Lottery.

A guy who runs a Chinese takeaway in Barrow has won the national lottery. Twice!!! First time he won just around 5 million (I think) and second time he won just under a million.
