Prague

City centre is £3 and up especially in the English and Irish bars

10 minute walk out of the city £1 a pint/litre or less.

£1 a litre would be pretty rare; I can only think of two places that even have litre glasses for one thing.

Provided you avoid the English/Irish bars (why the fuck would anybody go to Prague just to hang out in an English bar?), wou should be aiming for around 30kc a beer as an average, with Pilsner Urquell averaging more like 38 - 42kc, and other beers often being cheaper. £1 is currently around 35kc, as we have the worst performing currency in the world right now. Great for tourists, balls for people getting paid in Czech crowns.

You don't have to go more than a couple of streets off the main tourist drag for the prices to drop. There's a bar a couple of streets away from Old Town Square with Staropramen at 26kc (71p) per 0.5L (it also has 2 for 1 between the hours of 3-4pm on weekdays, which is mental).

Keep a note of all the drinks you've ordered. Experienced a couple of occasions when the staff have put extra drinks on the bill.
And if any female gets close to you on the street, make sure your wallet is safe.
Great city, tho :)

This. I was hassled more by women (prostitutes) here than anywhere I have ever been. Honestly, one of the more scary things I have experienced. I pretty much had to forcefully shove a few women off of me that were being too pushy. Like, to the point where I was just praying their pimps didn't see my treatment of these "ladies of the night". (No punching I promise), but one of them ended up on the ground and my mate and I took off running back to the hostel. That being said, I met two blokes from London there (I live in the states) and had an amazing time. It was both of the guys birthday's and they did a trip there every year just to see the sights. Watched the sun come up with them on Charles Bridge (I think, could have also been any other fookin bridge b/c I don't remember much after 3am. ) Awesome trip though.

when we were there a bloke came up and said "would you like to fuck some midgets ?" we said no thanks, so he said " we will let you kick the midgets "

Just wondering if anyone can offer any advice on the best way to book for a big group of us for a stag do either online (websites with best deals) or travel agents etc also can anyone recommend any decent places to stay in prague hotels etc

Cheers

Great choice of venue, Prague really is a fantastic City. Flights are pretty cheap and Jet 2 normally are one of the cheapest. Depends on the time of year but Czech airlines is a good option as well, but they dont fly out of Manchester all year round.

In terms of staying in the City then there are tonnes to choose from right in the centre. However, I used to live in a place called Andel about 3 stops on the underground outside the centre. It was a fantastic area with loads of bars, clubs and restaurents around and the hotels were much cheaper. I used to have an apartment here:

Was a great base and my mates used to come over quite a lot and id book a few of them for the weekend for them to stay in. Beer is a lot cheaper around there as well for day drinking and only 5 mins on the tube from the main centre where all your typical bars and strip clubs are.

My advice is that in the main stay away from Wenscelas Sq for hotels and drinking and venture of the beaten track. Most of the best places i found to drink are nowhere near there.
