Fair enough, we must be watching different Italy matches.
I don't think he's awful, but overrated. He's very much a system player and as much as people question how Pogba will cope in their midfield now the same can be asked of him imo.

With the likes of Vidal, Juve had a fine balance in their midfield, one that I think the national team lack. When he and Montolivo would play together it was shocking imo.

Champions League 2015-16: team-by-team guide to the group stage

Tuesday game will be a tough match-up between the pot one and pot two teams and could have a huge influence on who tops the group. Manchester City are 5th favourites to win the Champions league outright with Juventus 10th favourites. The City faithful will be keen to get off to a strong start at home and will have to make several changes to the forward line. I expect De Bruyne will start the match in a central position and will be the difference between the 2 teams. I expect Aguero, Silva and Sterling wont be risked and would be great to see Iheanacheo (hero against Palace) get more game time.

Mandžukić will be the main threat leading the line for Juventus; stemming the flow from Cuardado and Pereyra could be key to ensuring a City victory and much desired clean sheet.
Pogba was linked strongly with City over the transfer window but has failed to show his promise at the start of the season. The YaYa v Pogba match up will be one of the most interesting talking points in teh Matchday 1 fixtures with Pogba being touted as one of the best young talents in World football and a potential successor to YaYa Toure in the City central midfield.

HEAD TO HEAD FIXTURES
City and Juventus have only met 4 times with 1 win each and 2 draws.
Many think that the team that comes out on top of this head to head will top teh table

Still remember that 1-0 over Juve in 76 with Kiddos header like it was yesterday, those two UEFA campaigns in the late 70's still vivid in the memory the 3-0 win over AC Milan still one of my favourite City games

Personally I think Marchisio is hugely underrated. He's nowhere near as flashy as Pogba, Pirlo and Vidal, but he's an incredibly smart player and very, very versatile. He's an excellent all-rounder who does everything (passing, tackling, positioning, vision, control) to an above-average level, without necessarily excelling at any aspect of the game. Both he and Pogba will be fine in Juve's midfield this season imo - they are passing through a difficult patch at the moment (through no fault of their own) and will most likely lose to City on Tuesday, but I have no doubt that they will be fine over the stretch.

I also respectfully disagree about Montolivo - I think the Marchisio-Pirlo-Montolivo trio worked beautifully during Euro 2012.
