I don't watch enough of Italy to comment but in a Juve strips he's fucking boss.
If we go by the premise he's boss for Juve then it's night and day where Italy are concerned.
 
Marchisio is perfectly fine for Italy (albeit in poorly performing Italy teams over the past 4 years). I'm not sure where you got the impression that he's been poor for them - he's the first name on the teamsheet in midfield these days, ahead of Pirlo, Verratti and De Rossi.
