Pre & Post Match | U21 Derby - 11th February

We play their U18's next Wednesday (17th @ 1pm KO) over at Carrington, any chance Rooney will be playing for them?

I don't know for certain but I very much doubt it. Can't remember the last time I saw an over 21 name in the EDS team.
Demichelis, Rodwell and SInclair during 2013/14 season [although not in the single match and with normal circumstances - injuries. Martin made his debute having played 1 half vs Rochdale, Jack was also there]. RIchards and Maicon 12-13.

Then yeah, can neither remember anybody. Wright and Panti must've got a couple of matches during 2012-13 campaign too.

And I doubt there was the case when a field 1st team player would play more than 45 minutes for EDS.

Still, if it would make any good for Vincent and it's not risky, it's worth it.

EDS XI v @ManUtd: Gunn, Smith-Brown, Adarabioyo, Bryan, Angelino, A.Garcia, Glendon (C), M.Garcia, Bytyqi, Barker, Celina

U21s: #mufc v Manchester City - J.Pereira; Love, Williams, Poole, Riley; Fosu-Mensah, Rothwell, Redmond; Harrop, Keane, Weir.

In fairness to them they have *only* named 1 senior player and it's quite a young XI - 19y 5m

Our team is unchanged at 19y 7m

Theres now a thread in the Matchday Forum where people will be discussing the game I think.

I'm not an expert when it comes to our U21's but from what I understand we're still playing like we did under Vieira. I.e. heavily based on possesion, pressing, 4-3-3, playing from the back etc.
Vieira played a lot of players out of position for their development as well so I don't know if you can compare successes at this level, since development is more important than results but I don't think there's been a huge difference in performance either.

Ahhh fair enough, to be fair i don't put too much into results as I guess as most of us know winning and creating talent at this level can be pretty different things.
