Pre & Post Match | U21 Derby - 11th February

i dont get to watch too many of our EDS games live so will be watching this tonight as the wife is out with "friends" :-)

i do enjoy the person who puts the vids and match reports up on here mind. very helpful and insightful. We seem to have a bright future at all age levels

Based on the last games

City starting XI Average age - 19 years 7 months

United starting XI average age - 22y 3 months.

So only the 2 years 8 month difference

No doubt this will be conveniently unreported in the match reports if the rags win.

They shall be refer to as 'young' implying ours are not and likely mention 'local boys' when it'll be similar a number.

As a side note, hows the new gaffer doing so far? I mean obviously a youth coach has different parameters of success but has there been a change of play or style from paddy?

I'm not an expert when it comes to our U21's but from what I understand we're still playing like we did under Vieira. I.e. heavily based on possesion, pressing, 4-3-3, playing from the back etc.
Vieira played a lot of players out of position for their development as well so I don't know if you can compare successes at this level, since development is more important than results but I don't think there's been a huge difference in performance either.

I think I read from someone that Wilcox has reigned in the position experimentation a bit.
