I am more than happy to take a draw from this significant test of our enduring resilience.
It's a relatively small pitch, which does not suit our beautifully expansive style of play, and in spite of their claims that we are the lesser of the two Manchester evils there is no doubt that their fans view our arrival like a Prestbury housewife would respond to a lottery winner from Wytheshawe moving in next door. They will be up for this, no danger.
They are a decent, hardworking team, and Adam is more than exceeding my expectations. That said Carroll and Downing are helping balance that little equation.
In a sense I'd love us to convert to our previous style of play, which is unusually cautious for me, but that's because avoiding defeat is paramount in this fixture.
1-1 for me and that would represent another rubber stamp in the evolution of this football club.
