Since our defeat against Chelsea and our draw against Norwich the situation is now as follows
Assuming we win our 7 home games this will give us 54pts home, we have 21 away points already
Winning Target 80pts 5 pts from 6 games
Winning Target 83pts 8pts from 6 games
Winning Target 86pts 11pts from 6 games

With a target of 86, wins at Hull and Palace will mean 5 points from Rags, Arsenal, Liverpool and Everton.
We play Rags and Arsenal within 5 days at End of March, 4 points from these two games should do it.

Interesting stuff. Another good thing to see would be Chelsea's alternative of this to see how easy/difficult it will be for them to reach the 86 point mark.

I think that is spot on. I did a bit of a prediction myself. That was before Norwich and had us and Chelsea tied on 85points going off previous results this season in corresponding fixtures and also over the past two seasons. Chelsea have struggled at the Hawthorns so I put them down as drawing. I think if we win our remaining home games the away games will take care of themselves - in pressure situations we generally do pretty well. I would look at it differently though. I think we will more likely get 4 points from hull and palace but win at the swamp and Goodison. From our remaining away games I think we will get 10 - 12 points though so it works out the same!

I had Chelsea for 86 a few weeks back and them beating us took them to 89 in my assessment, with WBA that drops it back to 87, but I factored in one or two draws.

I think 87 or 89 will win the title.

89 definitely (and the amount we got in 2011/12), but I don't think we get there. But 87 is very much on providing we can be relatively injury free, with 7 home wins and 7pts from the 4 tough away games (win at United and one of the other 3).

As a neutral lower league fan still think you guys will win it, just edging Chelsea in the final few weeks

Wrote a blog today bout the race if anyone's interested

One area which has always brought criticism is our defence? give it a break mate, best defence in the country and golden glove winner 3 years running.

This season most certainly but not under Mancini. For at least two seasons the defence was our strongest position. As soon as the kompany/lescott partnership was disrupted it started to go downhill. Clearly pellegrini doesn't give a shit about the defence, it's all about the attacking this year and you cannot argue it's exciting to watch but does leave us exposed.

One on one City's defence is the best. Arsenal's is good too

City are better at defending as a team than Arsenal, because we have Fernandinho in our team so forwards don't get the chance to go one on one as much as they might do

City's defence has also been hurt a lot by injury. Clichy, Micah, Kompany, Nasty all struggled with injuries and Joe Hart was also out for a long time

Got squat to do with injury.

this blog states something along the lines of "over the last 5 years...." which is total bollocks.

If we can stay injury free till the end of the season we win the league its as simple as that.

If we have to turn up at Liverpool and Everton and win the game we will do. Yes they are tough places to go but as in 2011/12 when you need the points big game players turn up.
