Palmer was very naive at the end there - as were all the Chelsea team. So many opportunities to just slow the game and take it into the corner but repeatedly made poor choices. He can dribble through an entire defence but he still doesn't know how to manage a game - that's not a harsh criticism because he's an excellent player with huge potential but these are the kinds of things that saw him stay on the bench here. They are literally the decisions which make or break games... and ultimately Pep plays the players that he trusts to make the best decisions.

Don’t fall for the media hype. He is a good player but he was not a regular starter for us and if he’d stayed he would still be spending most of his time keeping the bench warm. £42m is not ”peanuts”, it was good business for both Clubs.
