The way round this is teams that can field teams play each other if possible, leaving space in the season later for other games to fulfil their spots, it might not be ideal, especially for fans (although they could end up behind closed doors anyway) they did this is in the NFL last year. This could help out with fixture congestion.

That Everton team is possibly the most thread bare team I've ever seen, there's no attackers at all other than a kid I've never heard of and nothing on the bench either. If that's covid surely they had grounds to postpone? Chelsea easy win there, nothing to trouble them.
