Premier league Games 14/15 Sept 2024

The earlier game had a load of yellows and it never seemed a dirty game. A bit feisty as you'd expect in a local derby

(Minor) debating point: have Newcastle had their ‘great season’, and that's it basically? I do find myself wondering. There was talk of them being semi-regulars for top four, at one point. I don't think they've got a cat in hell's chance of that.
But even qualifying for Europa League on a regular basis might be quite a stretch. There are several clubs who've come up in the fast lane, in a manner of speaking, and who look better bets than them — I think of clubs like Brighton and Villa, for instance.
The wow effect of the Howe effect seems to have worn off quite quickly. But the conundrum is that I don't think they'll get a better manager, really. I don't see one anyway.

Edit: literally as I hit the key for ‘post’ they scored! Haha…
But it doesn't change my basic analysis, really.

Its FFP for what it truly was brought in for. They had 1 great season, qualified for the CL and despite having the richest owners in the world, they were unable to keep improving the team due to PSR rules
