But there is a healthy core minority who are über-Scouse anarchists, both Liverpool and Everton fans alike. Exactly as you describe there, all following the likes of Tony Evans on Twitter and probably have a framed photo of Ricky Tomlinson (who did have far right wing views in his youth before his big Socialist switch) on their mantelpiece.

I bet it’s frustrating for the sound Scousers.

There are a lot of Mancunians like this n’all, but they don’t come out with “Britain has an anti-Mancunian attitude” whinges.

The whole uber Scouse thing is lamentable. But sadly a lot fall for it, people are either too weak or knowledgeable to make a stance against it. In my late teens I loved going to Manchester for the music scene, fashion etc. We have a lot in common but like you say Mancunians seem more grounded about it. Not sure why some Scousers are the way they are, there is nothing wrong with having pride in where your from. But in the 80s over a third of the population left and most never returned.
