If you place a ruler along the edge of the penalty box line on the bottom picture and slide it across, the offside line is nowhere near parallel to it. It is at a completely different angle, you could say it is drawn at that angle to make it appear that Cavani is onside

That explanation would only work if VAR was from a flat bird’s-eye-view from above. We’re looking at it from the side so the only straight line is at 0° in front of us, where the defender is isn’t at 0° so the line will always be at a slightly different angle because of perspective.

Im going to stop defending them now, it’s making me feel sick. But there’s nowt wrong with that goal (I’m off to puke up… come on City!)

Can you explain why the lines were not shown at the time the check was made? I still haven't seen them, only the home made ones on twitter so far

I thought that the other night when we were playing Liverpool. They showed the lines for the 2nd Jota goal for about 2 seconds before taking them away. It was another 30 seconds before they made the decision, but you didn't see the lines on screen or that again which I thought as weird.
