Premier League Games 25/26/27 October 2024

We aren't winning the league. The fact we were at home, our centre half goes off and we play like we've had a red card against a team we are better than. The mentality was one of fear.

Dippers won't win the league either - I'd say it's an open road for City to get the 5th on the bounce. Liverpool are a glorified hit and hope team.

Funnily enough Arteta's negativity may pay off in the Champions League but playing as if you're the underdog when you are at home just tells the competition you fear them. Odegaard coming back won't change that.
Fans have same mentality as the manager and players it seems….

I think you will be there or thereabouts. It will be a close season.

It wasn't as good a game as I expected. For the first 45 Arsenal were the better team, got a very good goal and then another in stoppage time at the end of the half. The doubts we had about Liverpool under Slot were confirmed. They had got an equaliser, but for much of the half seemed so concerned to show they were calm and controlled that they seemed to lack urgency. Then in the second half the roles were reversed. Arsenal seemed to lack belief that they could maintain their lead without concentrating on a ten man defence. Liverpool were a lot less careless with the ball without ever really posing too much of a threat - until they started to bring Salah into the game.

My conclusion is that, as always, City are masters of our own future. At the moment times are difficult and a lot will depend on how we cope with our injury problems. We know Rodri is out all season and at the moment we are without KdB, Walker, Doku, Grealish and Bobb - just under one third of our squad (excluding goalkeepers) and we are in 3 competitions with a fourth beginning after Christmas. If our injury problems ease we can still enjoy a successful season.

There's a wonderful reference in Arsenal Talk to Sky Blue Sports.

How times have changed when (some) people seriously believe Sky (or any other part of the media) is biased towards City.

For me, there's a flaw in Arsenal's mentality that seems similar in team and fans. Deep down, they don't believe they're good enough. And belief is important in football.

The odd thing is, City has a shit ton of injuries. If ever there was a chance for another team, surely this season is it. It's amazing we're top of the league with so many absentees, so many players having to do more minutes than ideal. No one can argue we're in brilliant form. It''s a wide open door for any team with the bollocks to stride through it.
