I understand that sometimes you want to just maintain possession, take the tempo down, and try to build a bit when you’ve been out of control of the ball for awhile. We do it when we (rarely) find ourselves under the cosh.
But to do it over and over again, away from home, when the opposition are there for the taking on the counter, and actually want you to try to play build up, is just asking to be beaten.
They never mix it up, They haven't taken any risks with the ball so far, One of their midfielders made a fabulous run in beyond Saliba and Gabriel when Mitoma had the ball out wide, Mitoma had his head up and seen the run and still didn't play it, Instead he made the safe pass.
Teams like Brighton aren't going to get too many opportunities away at Arsenal so you have to be willing to take risks and be ruthless when you get the opportunity, It seems like they are content with a marginal defeat.
