This debate about letting young players leave is getting a bit tedious. A talented young player wants to play. At our pomp none of the ones we let leave were getting into the side ahead of Kev, Gundogan, Rodri, Mahrez, Foden etcetera. We've done fine without them and it's only now that we're suffering the worst amount of injuries I can remember everyone is saying we should have kept them. Both Palmer and Lavia look good yes but they wanted game time and nobody knows if a young player will make it. Look at Morgan Rogers at Villa. He was out in loan at three clubs then signed for Middlesbrough. He didn't look like he was going to be top class but t he looks it now. You just can't tell.
True that, but it’s like why fucking us, we have a local born lad, albeit we don’t know he was a rag, that doesn’t come into it when he’s playing like he is, he’s absolutely top drawer this lad and barring a serious injury he will be one of the greatest to come from these shores if this continues.
Problem is, well Chelsea’s, is that he will be another who will go to Madrid and be hyped up like Bellingham, and could soon be just another cog in their wheel I suppose

They got all English clubs banned from Europe for several years because their supporters killed 32 Italian supporters and seven other fans, either through murder or manslaughter, take your pick — and they still don't fully assume responsibility for it.

Lavia has also had picked a fair amount of injuries since he has left City. Chances are his situation would have been similar if he had stayed.

And before you reply remember we have won 4 titles on the bounce and the Treble, with selling all of these stars, only now are we struggling and a lot of that is down to injuries.
Easy in hindsight though, I guess at the time I pretty much agreed with each of the decisions the club made, but a key point is, I had absolutely no knowledge of how they were training, what demands players had, how easy it could have been for the club to offer more wages or insert buy back clauses.
To answer each question, with the benefit of hindsight, I would suggest:
Palmer (obviously!) and Lavia, maybe THB.
Probably could have sold McAtee, and Bernardo.
Probably didn’t need to buy Nunes if we’d kept Lavia.
It’s just a pity we didn’t think to put a buy back clause in Palmer’s sale contract. Or better still, loan him instead of selling.
Anyway, all just theory. What we need to do is make sure we don’t repeat these errors, and start signing some proper top players to get our squad back to the level of treble winners.

We have bought very few who aren't good.
Doku and Savinho can be very infuriating mind you.
My point is that we have a squad that needs to be supplemented with younger players and they need to get some sort of a run out. If they are not good enough do be it. I don't know how Couto Kabore Callum Doyle would have turned out this season but one or two could have been kept. Everyone knows we have an ageing squad.
I get that but Chelsea fans have notorious right wing elements. My wife got racially abused by them when she went along to see their Champions League parade (the 1st one when they beat Bayern) and I've witnessed first hand how their away fans behave.Really? That being said Liverpool are also absolute filth. It's rock and hard place stuff. Fuck it, can't you lot get your shit together as we aren't going to win it so this horrible possibility doesn't become reality?
