Premier League Games 7/8/9 December 2024

Keep
Prior to this season Lavia Palmer THB
At the start of this season Doyle Couto Delap.
Not from our youths but Alvarez
Going back we let Sane and Torres go a little too easy.

Sell
This season
Walker and any one of either Ake or Stones.

We have bought very few who aren't good.
Doku and Savinho can be very infuriating mind you.

My point is that we have a squad that needs to be supplemented with younger players and they need to get some sort of a run out. If they are not good enough do be it. I don't know how Couto Kabore Callum Doyle would have turned out this season but one or two could have been kept. Everyone knows we have an ageing squad.
Ok so up to these season what were you asking all those you named to do? Sit around for 2 or even 3 seasons hoping that Rodri or Foden to use as examples get injured so they then get game time?

You’re being unrealistic if you expected that.

As posted above we’ve won 6 out of 7 titles, plus plenty of other trophies including the CL.

We’ve not missed a single one of these players.

Only now are we struggling.

[Average Super Sunday]

Jamie Redknapp: it's a penalty

Paul Merson: nah not for me

Roy Keane: course it's a penalty

David Jones: no agreement here. But I think we can all agree that the thrilling Day of the Jackal is streaming now.

Lol!

We've just done 4 Premier League wins in a row.

They've done fuck all.

They've made many more mistakes than our club.

We hit a bad patch and some on here have lost their minds.
I only meant the last couple of years but i didn't make that clear.
My mistake

Thats fine if you think I'm being unrealistic.
I'm not expecting players to hang around for years.
I'd like to see one or two of the younger players drafted in to the panel each year and get a decent chance to prove themselves.
If they are not up to it, that's ok but Mahrez Jesus Zinchenko Laporte Sterling Cancelo Alvarez have departed yet no young player is deemed good enough to fill in those gaps.

I get that but Chelsea fans have notorious right wing elements. My wife got racially abused by them when she went along to see their Champions League parade (the 1st one when they beat Bayern) and I've witnessed first hand how their away fans behave.

That being said Liverpool are also absolute filth. It's rock and hard place stuff. Fuck it, can't you lot get your shit together as we aren't going to win it so this horrible possibility doesn't become reality?

Chelsea have had openly racist and far right elements in their supporting fanbase not for years, but for decades. There's no denying it. They're a minority, but they're there, and they're loud.
I'm not quite sure what the reason is, historically, for that. It's odd. It was a bit strange seeing Raheem Sterling go there, when he'd been abused at Stamford Bridge in the foulest terms by some **** close to the touchline, only a season or two before.
From a purely personal point of view, I've never had problems with Chelsea fans (or Arsenal fans, for that matter). Spurs fans are pretty full of themselves (God alone knows why!) but they're not racists. It would be a bit much if they were. All supporters who've been across Stanley Park have felt the hatred. Not just City supporters. It's not just bantz. It's feral. It is expressed with bitter sincerity (and backed up, on occasion, with bricks and knives). I've said several times on this forum that I don't have a problem with the city of Liverpool, and I've known some good scousers. It's just that bloody club.

Yep, and the reality is that at least 2 of those players only became the players they are because they left us. Lavia was never getting the game time for us. That's often the way it goes for younger players, because the big clubs can't afford the mistakes they'll inevitably make. THB spent 4 seasons on loan in the Championship to build up the experience and ability to be a Premier League starter in team that's currently bottom of the league. Very similar to James McAtee last season, and it's arguably pretty revealing that in our biggest injury crisis in years, McAtee still hasn't been trusted to play much.

Let's be honest, as fans we always overrate our own youngsters. Almost every sale of a high profile youngster is accompanied by moaning that we're letting go of the next Messi. And 99% of them never go on to have a career that suggests that they would have made it at City. A few arguably get to the stage where they could be a squad player at City, but even that is usually after a good few years at a lower level learning the ropes first. Palmer is the only example I can think of who has left and immediately shown his class. Brahim Diaz in the only other one that's managed to get regular game time at a club of a similar stature to us.

This season it's Harwood-Bellis and Romeo Lavia. A few years ago it was Jason Denayer and Eric Garcia. Nobody gives a shit when we're winning everything though.
