The Goal posts keep getting moved but this doesnt bode well for clubs who want to break into Europe.

 
They should make player-club contracts public, as they are in the American sports.

How can you possibly discuss a salary cap when no one actually knows what the wages are? The Mail says we’re paying Haaland £1m/week. Everyone else says £400k/week.


I’m not as opposed to this as most people - although I would want safeguards to stop it being a transfer of money from players to owners.

But unless there’s some transparency brought in it’s obviously not about being fair.
 
There will bet lots of sponsor deals and shamateur shenanigans if it is set low, and if set high it is pointless.

All contracts would need to change as you wouldn't be able to have bonuses which push you over, so would take time to phase in, and the introduction of marque players costing less against the cap if club and association trained etc.

Lot of backhanders to agents instead which end up going to the players.
