Premier League meeting to discuss salary cap?

Not sure how this would work in reality.
Presume they would have to use the turnover of the lowest club from the previous season.
What happens if a club in a few years has a one off really low turnover - clubs will have to sell lots of players to meet the cap even though they were well inside the cap the previous year.

The Goal posts keep getting moved but this doesnt bode well for clubs who want to break into Europe.
The premier league are sharpening the axe to kill the golden goose.
I think this is the yanks again and there self interest.

Not addressing the real issue, as usual, which is the unequal distribution of income. If you really want to do something about it:
1. All gate receipts shared equally between the two clubs playing, like it used to be.
2. Champions League money not only going to clubs in the competition, but shared down the pyramid (same for PL money).
3. Completely even sharing of TV mostly already happens.
4. No extra money for being on TV more often, except to pay for any related costs of broadcasting it.
Do all that and you won't need a salary cap because bigger clubs won't be able to dominate financially so easily. Salary caps would be a disaster unless they were agreed Europe-wide. But let's be honest, none of this is actually going to happen. We already have the only sort of salary cap we're ever going to implement, and that's one that allows the big clubs to continue paying way more than the smaller ones by tying it to revenue.

No they won't. Players want to play for the big clubs in the best competitions. It's not golf.The Saudi league beckons. They will instantly wipe the Prem off the map if this comes to fruition.
You can't buy the atmosphere and huge fan interest that Europe's top leagues have.

In theory it seems a good idea. but you have to assume it’s the red shirts behind this so what’s the real motive.

It's nonsense what is currently being suggested.Not sure how this would work in reality.

The wage cap would realistically have to be separated from cup competitions as no club knows how far they will get in the cups,so how could bonuses for winning such as CL be worked out.
Clubs that were not in Europe could max out their figure while those likely to go far would have to make adjustments, surely a non starter.

But Shirley they're brands will be damaged without success meaning profits will lessen????The American owned red shirt clubs want this. They make money off their brands even without success. They just need to keep costs down to improve their margins.
