Premier League (midweek) Games 2/3/4 April '24

He was just asked that question and said “when I was growing up”. It’s something that I was always intrigued about: a player playing for a different team than he supported as a kid. I think it changes their feelings towards the club.
Loads of them out there. Isn't Spitty a famous one?

I have watched many of his games. He is undeniably good going forward (even then, has issues, which constantly frustrate his teammates), bút everything else is poor. He was poor throughout tonight and contributed to Chelsea needing to come back in the first place.

He would be nowhere near a regular starter under Pep (as Pep would never tolerate his overall game), which Palmer wanted, hence he left.

It was a good move for all involved.
This is very true and somewhat similar to Sane. Leroy was brilliant on his day (particularly in the Centurions season) and I loved him like most other blues. But his sometimes failure to track back and not protecting the ball enough infuriated Pep. Even in that famous game in Jan 2019 when he hit the winner vs scousers, he gave the ball away about 60 seconds earlier sending Pep apoplectic.

And I actually think Sane was better then than Palmer is now.

I was having this conversation with my seat neighbour at the Etihad last night. Palmer is without doubt a highly talented, maybe even great player, but as good as he is he wouldn’t be getting regular starts in our team. We have Foden, Bernardo, KDB and Doku regularly starting for us in that position and there is no chance he starts ahead of at least three of them, maybe all four. Thats why I stand by my view that the transfer was a good deal for all parties.

Probably trying to get a rag move next.

Is he a good player? Yes
Did he produce the goods with city and how we play? Sometimes
Was he going to replace any of our starters who just won a treble? Nope
Did we expect he would be this good? Nope.

He don’t care just like many other players. Said he was a united fan, no point splitting hairs.
