It wasn’t that Varane was offside, it was that in coming back from an offside position, Maguire placed a block on Rodriguez to stop him from defending Varane. It was a basketball pick.

Dean went to look to check he agreed with VAR, that Maguire was offside when the free kick was played, and interferes with play when he blocks off Rodriguez’ defensive effort.

I know we all enjoy United getting embarrassing results but did you watch the first half?

Apart from having 2 goals ruled out for weird things, they scored and had a couple of other chances. Any pundit would say they could have been out of sight if any team had that half.

What the correctly given magliar offside when obstructing the Burnley player the thing is if he had been onside it probably would have stood totally bizarre..
