Premier League or Champions League?

Winning the PL is clearly (to me & most on here) the real mark of who is the best team.

However, it's become obvious that the rest of the world doesn't see it that way ... for global credit & recognition you need to win the CL.

It's possibly because Bayern, PSG, Real, etc are so used to winning their own leagues (often at a canter), that the only true measure for them & their fans is how they do in the CL.

So I'm afraid the CL has become all important for City now. Trouble is, whatever you do, you can't guarantee winning it - you need those moments of luck along the way (in the draw & in matches themselves).

When you think of any top team or top managers you probably know how many champions leagues they have but would have to guess at how many league titles they've won.

Defending the english title is a greater marker of a great team, it night not seem so with the english g14 teams not partaking in such a stretch recently and with the media stum on the subject

You've just made the case for the PL. Over thirty-eight games, you'll get moments of good luck, moments of bad luck. Moments of penalties not given, moments of penalties not given to the opposition. But over thirty-eight games, there is no luck: at the end, the team at the top of the table is there on merit. Every single time and no arguments.
That said, if we're out of the CL this year, luck has nothing to do with it, in my view. We threw it away.

Plus I'd love to see how i would feel compared to winning the league title.
