Premier League or Champions League?

I'm not sure it does show entitlement really. For years we've had polls asking which we'd want to win more, PL or CL. It's just that this time winning the PL would be the 4th in a row. Winning the CL would be back to back wins. Those are facts.

I've not answered though because I havent got an answer. While every success is great like you say, I just dont want us to lose games either. That kind of ends up bringing trophies too.

I do get the polls, but I'd have preferred to leave it as the usual - PL or CL.
Turning into what it is just sounds crass to me

The fact 4 in a row has never been done before made me pick that initially. It would also be our 10th league title which would be pretty special. However, winning the CL for me was much like winning the league title in 2012. I wasn't sure I'd ever see it, I'd spent my childhood not expecting to ever be in it and when we finally got over the line it was just unreal. For our status as a club I think another CL win would be better, and as a fan I'd probably lean that way as well.

While I don’t think it’s anywhere close to either the CL or the PL in terms of importance, I would like to point out that winning the Club World Cut is relevant to the standing of a club with a global fanbase.

I understand that English fans see it as an “inconvenience” in the schedule etc. Liverpool and Chelsea have lost it in the past, and I don’t want us to join them. It also happens that Pep is tied with Ancelotti as the manager with the most wins (3), so it’s a chance for him to surpass the Italian.

In the previous iteration of this competition, Pep lost the final to São Paulo as a player in 1992. He showed a lot of respect for the competition in the times he won it at Barcelona and Bayern and, in typical Pep fashion, does use it as the parameter to declaring which is the best club in the world in any given year.

There’s a good chance that we will face Al Ittihad in the final as they have qualified as hosts, with the competition taking place in Saudi Arabia. That club has made several big signings, and so we are also caught in a place to reinforce to the world that European football still rules the day despite the money spent there.

You see I actually don’t want to win everything now after that treble season - it would be boring if the other teams don’t get better and start competing. Even if it means winning less trophies, I’d rather see a competitive league etc….. - was so disappointed in Arsenal no show last season but I guess a lot of credit goes to our lads for that. They were on a downward turn of results though, it was a pretty obvious result coming.

I think it is obvious Pep will want both, and the nature of this question is what fans want, if you could only have one, so there is no need to add it to the poll.

I know we shouldn’t compare ourselves to the VicTwins, but seeing as we’ve got both sets of fans rattled particularly after winning the Treble, winning either would be mint.

Both of them won the top European Trophy at Wembley (Rags 68’ and Dips 77’) so we have to take advantage of this opportunity, even if odds of 2/1 seem ridiculously short.
