President Joe Biden

Presumably as a strategy there are more votes in it for him to distance himself from the “progressives” and appeal to the middle ground, whatever that is in the US, and disenchanted Trump voters.

Hypothetical I know but realistically how do you think a progressive democrat would fare against Trump or a normal republican? What sort of result would a three horse race bring us?
Hypothetically, I think Bernie would've gotten smoked by Trump. To the frustration of everyone, general elections are still decided by swing voters in the middle and while Biden has run a campaign designed for that, Sanders doesn't play that game.

Quite. I get that people have their principles and rightly hold them dearly. However, voting isn't about waiting for the exact party/candidate to come along who fits your values perfectly. Go with whoever is closest to you as otherwise you end up with something much, much worse.
If if it comes to it, vote for whoever will do least damage, if not voting will help he who would do most.

I confess to not yet having seen the video that you posted but you have me more than a little conflicted.

I have been reading your posts on the Biden vs Sanders debate and have been educated, enlightened, call it what you may. Not a moment of epiphany type thing, more of an understanding of your position.

My conflict is simple. As a confirmed "anybody but Trump" I just can't bend my head around the idea that you are so opposed to Biden in the context of the current situation. This is despite understanding, I hope, and to an extent agreeing with your reasoning. When I first heard Sanders talk I thought he came across well and felt that here was a man who could be a force for good. Having said that I've always though Clinton spoke well also.

It's just that to not get behind Biden increases Trumps chances of reelection and I cannot countenance that in any scenario.

Look Doc, you unlike certain dumb New yorkers on here, can understand that if a Progressive voter has to stick their fingers down their throats as they vote for Biden, you don't expect Biden to rub their faces in that sick!!

It's stupid and counterproductive to ANY kind of far fetched harmony on the horizon.

I'm surprised that nobody can see that!

I'm not surprised anymore, such is the so-called 'any Blue will do' Democrat mantra, which was clearly an utter lie.

Biden had the chance to prove he's inclusive, has shown he is not and I will bet you he will walk back that statement very soon! It will be a bit late by then and HE would have caused more division than needed.

"But Joe Biden refuses to include those voters like me who like to rape sheep dogs and believe aliens plan to install the Pope as King of the Milky Way. He's not inclusive."

"Errrr, what? Those seem like, well, insane theses."

"If he doesn't include me, I'm not voting for him."

"But even Trump doesn't beli . . ."

"I SAID UNLESS HE INCLUDES SPECIFICALLY WHAT I BELIEVE I AM NOT VOTING FOR HIM."

That has sweet FA to do with this situation.

JUST DON'T SHIT ON YOUR VOTING DEMOGRAPHIC!!

It's fricking simple!!
I understand perfectly what you are saying, but I asked you earlier, in the present system with what you have to vote for, what will you do.

1. Trump
2. Biden
3. Don’t vote

Are they the choices.

I don’t claim to fully understand the US voting system, the Collegiate vote etc. , but it seems daft to me.

If it’s as simple as 1, 2,3 above, what are you thinking?

The thing is if Trump was talking to your constituency, he wouldn’t rule those beliefs out.
He might phrase it that a lot of very fine people are saying... etc. ,
Who knows, I’m going to look into it.
Very fine people. They seem to like me, etc. etc.

He sees Trump and Biden as equivalent tools of the great conspiracy of corporate America to squash average Americans (never mind that they employ average Americans, and sell products to average Americans, but anyhow). Oh, sorry -- he sees Kamala Harris as just as bad too. Also she's not really "Black". Sanders was his choice, and when Sanders (as well as every other prominent progressive politician in the USA) endorsed Biden for the greater good, he ignored them, and continues to desperately hunt for Joe Rogan clips and whatever else he can find to eviscerate Biden. He's basically an infant who's ideas and arguments have been rejected, but demands that unless he gets his way, nothing good can happen in the nation (which he doesn't live in, hasn't studied, hasn't been to and doesn't understand).

As you can see, the word "if" belongs nowhere near any sentence one might type about this poster being a fucking idiot.

His posts are single-handedly the dumbest on any of the political threads because they aren't WUMs -- he actually cannot see the forest for the trees -- actually, he cannot see the forest for the bark. Actually, he cannot see the forest because his head is buried up his own rectum.

Edit: I should note -- I don't disagree with him about everything. He's right that in certain places in the US, progressives are winning seats and making important waves. And I am totally fine with that. But that isn't the topic. It's Biden vs Trump. That's the choice. And he chooses to focus 100% of his energy on smacking Biden. Because see above.

Boy, aren't you one angry kid? You STILL won't acknowledge that Sanders was rounded upon by the MSM! The same ones that tell its citizens how they should be thinking and feeling.

And 'CHILDISH' is constantly talking about me, not to me.

You FAIL to understand the issues that Biden has caused in the past that he denies.

You FAIL to understand that both Obama and Biden ignored the people of Flint and their health situation.

You fail to understand that people who have healthcare attached to their jobs and now have no jobs are fucked. That wouldn't change under Biden.

You FAIL to understand that Harris does have issues with the voter. She's merely chosen because Biden opened his mouth and made a promise. Her status as being 'Black' is not an issue to me, but an issue to some sections of Black society already vocalised and Warren, herself, hasn't really stated her demographic until quite recently. But, you're Black so you'd understand how people can respond.

Oh wait...

Anyway, fuck it. When you're wealthy enough to ride through any of the above problems, you can talk as much out of your arse as you want to, Mr Wall St.

Progressives being voted in down ballot are merely supporting my case in the US.

Not if he harvests votes from the centre right, i's not. It's all about the numbers and Biden needs 270 electoral votes come Nov 4th or none of it matters. The progressives have the choice of Biden or stay at home and risk 4 more years of Trump. The centre right can probably choose between Biden and Trump and live with either.

I diagnose you with a case of over analogy. :-)

I posted earlier saying whilst I understand where @Bigga is coming from vis a vis Sanders vs Biden and the need for a more progressive USA I can't get past my own response which is simply "But it's Trump"

He's a spoiled rich kid.

He's of the 'Rich People Problems' on the other thread (which he'll not contribute to as it's about him as well).
