It’s simple: Trump lied through his teeth. Hillary called him on almost every lie, AND HAS BEEN PROVEN RIGHT, but was made a caricature of evil.

It’s the same old story for American politics:

Grand ideas from Dems, who rarely have the horsepower to achieve them.

Reps try to instill fear in white America that “other” is coming to take their country away from them. Meanwhile, they loot the country for the rich and powerful that keep them in power, esp since Citizens United, while starving essential services.

Then, like clockwork, Dems try to claw back funds and programs that have been starved, while trying to right some of society’s ills for the Big Tent they represent.

Lather, rinse, repeat!

We have swung waaaaay over to the Right under Trump, esp in the Judiciary, and now (post-2020 census, which was a travesty) the gerrymandering begins, so that any “new, non-white populations” have their votes essentially nullified!

Trump is a proven liar and a crook. Twice impeached. A record! I hope he ends up in jail, where he and his family should be, but he won’t because that’s not what we do in America.

He has the “elites” on his side because he transferred about $2T of the US Treasury to them, and he has the “deplorables” on his side because he convinced them (the idiots!) that he understood them and was one of them…even if only in terms of his racism!!!

And, when you hear the term “liberal elite,” think about that for a second. Think what it REALLY means. They sometimes even throw “east coast” in there for good measure!

IT MEANS EDUCATED AND INTELLIGENT!!

Yep, that’s the REPUBLICAN SLUR ON DEMOCRATS, until they get ugly and start using the racial dog whistles on the Big Tent, non-white segment of the party/population.

If Obama was the 'answer' and his policies were 'the dream', I asked a simple question: "Why did Trump sweep to power?"

You don't think Biden hasn't lied...?? Even 'moderate' America is waking up to that fact now. The problem is, no 'moderate' here is willing to say how much the Dems fuck up, every year or other.

It's not difficult to up a minimum wage so people don't work two jobs, for the most part. Or exact a proper punishment for banking/ Wall St fraud instead bailing out the culprits. It's not difficult to tax the rich a fairer share.

You have to ask why they continually fail and, therefore, allowing the GOP back in to do more harm.

They should be walking it in, basically, every election cycle.

Biden, who won his own State by around 10 pts, is supporting the next Dem in line (McAuliffe I think), who is BARELY ahead of his GOP challenger and that's after trying to wheel out the so-called 'big gun' in Obama...

That should be telling you something about how he's doing nationally!

Because they don't have the votes in the Senate is probably the rather boring answer.

Even if Biden’s agenda is popular, which it is, if Republicans keep winning Senate seats, progress will never be made. Oddly, the Republicans who oppose everything bar lots of defence spending and tax cuts never seem to get beaten over the head for obstructing everything, even things their voters actually like.

Which brings me to the question: Republicans? What is the point of them?

Yes, yes, this much is obvious.

but it's no answer to the question that nobody seems to answer directly. All defenders of Biden and the Dems seem to skirt around the issue and reality. They would rather snap up their collective petticoats and scream until they vomit.

Until they accept the problem, then 'what is the point of the GOP?' is always answered with 'the Dems' as an answer.
