President Joe Biden

Sorry fog our polls estimate the likely outcome of our elections I am not sure what they do in your neck of the woods.

Again an oz thing maybe not a Golden Gate thing.

our polls in 2016 predicted a Hilary win in a landslide and predicted a narrow Trump win in 2020.
No. No. No. No. No.

Observers, studiers and readers of poll data make predictions based on poll data.

Polls. Do. Not. Predict.

They. Reflect.

Clutching at straws Fog.

Again what did I have to read more carefully from your earlier remarks.

if you don't want to elaborate I assume you don't wish to follow through once again but I will ask you once again because I am a decent bloke who gives some latitude to ex pats living in California.

No, I'm explaining the reality about polls. I work with them every week, nearly every day, really, since a lot of accounting is nothing more than complex poll work, as is most government data not to mention good old actual polls of consumers. I'm one of those people who makes predictions based on them -- it's part of my job. I can advise you on a good statistics textbook if you are interested.

I can't believe I have to explain it, but if you don't see the irony in a poster talking about what people with "fuctional" brains do, I find that, errr, interesting.

Speaking of following through, I'm still waiting for you to square how you criticiz(s)e anti-Trumpers for keeping him in the public view while simultaneously recommending that his Facebook and Twitter pages be re-instated.

Finally, I'm no ex-pat, although I have been referred to as the "yank Manc" on here by a few given my utter love for the city and its people (which is what led me to fall in love with the club 20-odd years ago).

Reality ??

Polls give you a snapshot of what a sample have said they are likely to or will choose in due course.

Reality is just that it doesn't need explaining you can only restate it with a synonym.

They are often inaccurate both at a macro and micro level a bit like modelling climate change or the pandemic death numbers given no response and no one vaccinated vis a vis full lockdowns until 100 per cent of the population is vaccinated.

I just thought it was a spelling mistake but if you see irony then please yourself fog and yes you haven't explained it as such still you have just said you cannot believe you have to so again I ask what requires " more careful reading " in your response.

if you read my previous posts you would know the wait was over before it started but I will give you a clue its called free speech nothing to do with anti - Trumpers in fact it gives them another platform to respond.

No need to square anything Fog , with respect you make something out of nothing often.

When have I actually criticized anti - trumpers for being anti - trumpers , I have questioned some of Joe's faculties and think Kamala has no leadership qualities to take America forward with her as good leaders do.

You like many in your Eulerian Circle suffer ( pardon the pun ) from TDS where as I have no time for the sociopath.

Big Tech are not answerable to regulation and fair taxation measures themselves with a couple of exceptions when it comes to Government intervention.

Apologies on the last assumption you come across as someone who decided to leave the dart for greener pastures despite your obvious intimate knowledge of the local music scene.

Go City.

It's bad enough now, but just wait a couple of years and look at what damage he does to the U.S. over the course of his tenure. Then look at what trump did by comparison. I'm not mystic Meg, but it's pretty obvious, the way its going. Never mind the cast of "Thriller" will vote him back in eh?...

I'd be devastated at the prospect of this radical regime having power if I was actually American but instead I just laugh at the demented sack of hair sniffing skin. Never fails to amaze me how precious people get over trump though. Then again, many of the same people think socialism is a good idea...

Never mind, at least san fran will always be beautiful!

Biden needs that fella.
Your post is a little confused.

How I feel after seeing all the bad shit going on in the US and Afghanistan at the moment

How I feel after I got abuse for saying Biden wouldn't improve anything several months back

Every Presidency has its nadir moment. The Afghanistan withdrawal is a mess - and Biden fucked up there.

But it's a bridge way too far to jump on the Afghanistan fiasco and somehow conclude that Biden hasn't improved anything at all.

Wake up!

Trump is a fascist. He does not believe in Democracy and wants to stay in power at any cost. He's a populist - echoing whatever sentiment he feels that his supporters want to hear. And he's a master at double-speak - Trump is pro vaccination, but totally supportive of the rights of individuals to refuse vaccination; Trump is not racist, but the Proud Boys should, "Stand back and stand by"; and so on and so forth.

And, I guess like most fascists, Trump is a bully. He's the singular most divisive President in my 50+ year lifetime.

So yeah, Biden hasn't improved matters one whit... a conclusion reached only by Republicans, small children, and idiots.

What happened to politicians taking responsibility and showing some contrition, he’s only been in the job 5 minutes but he should really step aside. Some things you can’t really excuse as a political misjudgement.

Like Trump's capitulation deal with the Taliban?

Politics in that country is fucked mate - when you have Trump acting like he did on the 6th and is behaving like he is now I can't see why Biden should step aside for executing Trumps decision.

However it would be funny if he did step aside so Harris could become President - I reckon we could see the steam from the boiling piss in certain states from here
